  1. Considering how much boot space you get in a standard E30, the E30 tourings have phenomenal amounts of space. A touring that's been looked after looks tits, and they're great for sessions, aye Tim
  2. I take it they're the 5 stud pattern....dammit, Sam might like them though...Edit: Waaaaaa, I want BBS [crying smilie/] (I propose we get a crying smilie face)
  3. would look alright on a car with the bumper strips removed, you need to have something running along the length of the doors be it a panel line, bumper strip, or sticker...

  6. VISA, gotta get those dvd's from somewhere aye
  7. I'll add it to my list
  8. Have emailed out my latest and hopefully final revision... Added a few more boxes and worked out the slider so that it refreshes when you scroll it, just like in GT

    I'm Driving a CRX...

We should get a link going and have a dual race...
  10. Yes you you can do whatever you want, that's the beauty of spreadsheets I just personally wanted a s/s that gave a Gran Turismo styled gear ratio graph with RPM on the Y and speed on the X, I can modify it again so several pages and graphs are all interlinked to the combo box and slider bar if you want... I've only been playing with excel and this spreadsheet for a week now and it keeps getting better each time. The only annoying thing is the slider doesn't update the graph until you release the mouse...if only I could get it the two linked to work as you slide it it'd be super tits :mosh: This is just one s/s in a world of s/s's but you should note that i've added several addition gearbox's to it
  11. Haha, thanks Grant, that site actually gives me some more g/box ratios to include in my s/s, will add them and resend you my s/s E: Just noticed that Ove's calculations are using 3.04 instead of Pi...that makes a considerable difference between the two s/s calculations, if you change the 3.04 to Pi() they match up perfectly
  12. Okay, so I went to that link but couldn't find any downloads for a gear/diff ratio graph... Will email you my s/s Edit...I just sent it to your hotmail email address that I have, if you want me to send it somewhere else PM me your email addy.
  13. Was trying to decide what differential would suit me best but really needed some visual way to decide between all the possibilities. Using a spreadsheet from Glenn I have modified it to do something like what you get in gran turismo, RPM on the Y axis and Speed on the X axis, drop down combo box for gearbox selection and a slider bar for final drive (diff) ratio. Screenshot to come If you want a copy of the spreadsheet drop me a PM.
  14. Came across this page this morning, a must read for you reople with rough or revy idle problems, not looking at anyone in particular...Dan... This is very comprehensive but answers many a question on that damn idle setup and how to change the idle speed correctly. Idle problems link Hmmm, makes me wonder...

    1 series

If you get the BMW quarterly magazine it explained a few things about it but it does handle extremely well as it's the first BMW to get the new suspension setup which is going into the next 3 series lineup. It doesn't get the new engine setup, the 20% lightened one, but for the price you are getting a really good performer.Looks on the other hand, as I said before, it's actually quite nice when you consider its ride height. A mtech 1 would truly be badass but I wreckon it'll end up lookin like a grown up M Coupe...

    Pulling dents

We're talking about getting dents repaired without the paint job being affected right? I got whacked $150 for a perfect finish, excellent fix but man my ass hurts if it could've been $50 or less...

    Advanced timing

explain exactly how it raises the compression ratio??? dude advancing timing cannot raise compression, compresison, in laymans terms is "to squash a volume of air/fuel mixture down to a smaller volume" advancing timing changes the point at which the combustion occurs... For a start, I didn't say it raises the compression ratio, I said it raises the compression. If you want to argue over symantics then compression may not be the most exact word to describe the increase in pressure caused by the advancement of the ignition.By advancing the ignition point the fuel mixture starts to burn well and truly before it is fully compressed, since the volume of mixture is trying to expand while it is still being compressed the pressure is actually greater than what it would've been had the ignition been retarded hence a higher chance that the head gasket may blow. Or another way. If you don't ignite the mixture then it won't expand and push down the piston. It is the ignition timing that creates the pressure force at the precise point needed, too late and you waste the pressure created, too early and the force required to compress the mixture volume is too great, increasing the chances of the head gasket blowing out. Edited to remove offense

    Advanced timing

Increasing the timing increases the compression and produces more heat within the chamber as you're increasing the burn time, while get better fuel effeciency and performance you are however increasing the chance off blowing a head gasket. My Isuzu benefited generously from advancing the timing, was quite peppy afterwards. It survived 2 years before the head gasket blew, then after machining the head down and replacing it all it took 6 months to blow again as the compression was too high after the machining. Still, was bloody good fun while it lasted.

    Advanced timing

Advancing is good for engine Depending on how far you go it makes it more efficient and more peppy but at the cost of engine life expectency.

    GRrRR starter

When switching from mineral to synthetic did you flush the mineral oil out first or just drain it and bang in the synth???
