  1. Tane, you could do a Tim... If you need some tail lights to get a warrant then you can switch them with mine for the wof then switch them back later... All because i'm a nice chap
  2. I very rarely drive around the basin, if heading to the airport I take the scenic route around the bays, bloody funny to see kent and cambridge terraces on a sat night though... CaM, you cannot hop in my car for intermarque, for any motorsport governed event before a competitor can have a passenger riding along the car has to have certain safety features installed. Ian explained it to me before, I think the car has to have a roll cage and 5 point safety harness and the passenger must also wear the required safety gear.
  3. Hahaha, that's the very fist thing I did when I became a mid twenties person...badassKinda sad though in reflection

    Clutch Stop

I think people use them so that they can slam the clutch hard without it travelling all the way through the firewall...either that or so that it makes a ping each time they hit the stopper...rice
  5. Yeah, CRANK SHAFT, that's what I said didn't I???Well, I meant crank shaft anyway, we all know that that particular engine had some teething bottom end problems God damn i'm getting things all confuddled lately, i'm fast becoming the minister of misrepresentation, mom. CaM, Intermarques: Round 1 - 24th April (this sunday) Round 2 - 28th May
  6. The 325i has 170bhp with 222 Nm torqueThe 318is has 136bhp with 172 Nm torque Not sure of the weight difference but i'd say the 325i would kick arse, honestly couldn't tell you.
  7. They have the 325i brakes and struts and should have lsd, case size not as important as the fact it's lsd. Point is, they run the better gear instead of the 318 stuff, which, as you pointed out uses drums on the rear - uber gay
  8. ??? hahaha, o0o0oo0o boyracer in an M3 it seems Haha, no, I meant that the gentleman in the M3 actually races it in the intermarque sprints. Tane and I had a nice chat to him last time we were up in Manfeild. It wouldn't be hard to come off looking like a racer when you've got a 400bhp engine hooked up to a 6 speed SMG gearbox running 285 tyres on the rear He was planning on getting it super charged but discovered that the M3 engine he has has a fairly weak camshaft that wouldn't handle the charger. Suck, just think if he did get it charged, a 500bhp M3
  9. A 318is is simply a 318i with a M42 twin cam motor, kinda like a baby M3 which is a 2.3 twin cam 4.The 318is pulls 136bhp which is bloody good chips when compared to the 320i which pulls 129bhp (motronic, L-Jet does 125) and the 323i which pulls 139bhp. In addition to that they come with m325i running gear and the additional front lip. It's the only car to have that front lip apart from the Italian 320is if i'm not mistaken. They are as rare as hens teeth in nz. I get the figures from a gent I was talking to in JVille who has owned a 318is but sold it for a m325i about them. Their only appeal is that they're rarer than the M3 in nz and that they're really good runners. Of course they're no where near as good as a m325i, which of course, he now has two of.
  10. Carbon fibre... Cain, you say replace rear window with something lighter, does removing all the weight from the rear end of the car without matching it with weight gains from the front not have negative impact on the cars balance...don't the E30's already have a front bias weight balance??? Go with the CF strut brace Gus and let us know how it goes, perhaps you could make a few sets just in case they go and if they don't then hook em off...
  11. I agree with Martyn, covet thy neighbours wife, not his car I'm a car bigot, can't stand off road vehicles and big SUV's as run-a-bout school run vehicles. Full credit if you actually use them off road but don't expect me to let you in the queue along the Terrace, space hogs

    Its JDM Yo!

Those tips, those tips!!! No engine response at all, but what about the torque gains
  13. Hope it was a boy racer, too many of them around!!! I never feel any sympathy for racers that crash. I had to have a chuckle the other night, I saw MT in his suped up M3 (license plate AJP) waiting at the Melling lights - infamous boy racer area - when several boyz rocked up in their suped up civics/crxs eyeing him up for a drag... let me see, little jappas against a 400 bhp M3 with a racer driver... was god damn funny to watch them get caned

    Boot draining?

WTF? Please type in English as I don't understand wigga txt slang styles.Check all your seals, otherwise hunt down the leaky tail syndrom solutions on the E30 networks.
  15. Let that silence the critics 318is = rare, only 10 in nz of which i've only seen two around wellywood Why hasn't anyone moulded that front lip, I want one!
  16. Wassup mofo, we better be hitting it hard tonight in celebration as I haven't gotten wasted since the mega meet in Taupo!  = :puke:
  17. K&N panel filter for E30 is around the $130 mark.If you can't replace your own filters be them air, fuel, or oil filter, then you really shouldn't be considering doing anything with your car at alll
  18. MSN Messenger and ICQ has IRC capability if i'm not mistaken, similar to chat rooms...I will assume blueroom would be something similar to these programs or a chat site like xtra had before that predater problem/scandal/scare they had. IRC = bad bad bad MSN messenger = the most annoying program microsoft ever made, thank god you can erase it completely from windows xp
  19. Okay, so I did the finger walking and rang SKF, they said the price on that part number was $220!!!I then did some quick talking and said I was quoted $144.16 and they sold me it for that...excluding the gst, bargain!!! I just hope it's the right bearing because she said there's two different front wheel bearing part numbers for E30s...
  20. The power rack ratio is only slightly smaller than the manual rack ratio, 4.2 to 4.1 or something very similar to that, insignificant really.

    Hartge

These certainly are some really well constructed headers, would sh*t all over any custom headers, shame they wouldn't fit without some sort of fiddling...

    LSD

Apologies I'm a dumb arse. I've taken my experience with the bad diff I had and messed up my understanding of the way a proper open diff should work...thanks to Ian for pointing out my error. That broken diff I had made me think only the left wheel was being fed power, hence why i've only ever experienced left rear wheel spin...will have to go out now and experiment with trying to get the right wheel to spin!!!

    LSD

The reasoning: The crown wheel (drive wheel) is on the outside of the car. I'm sure there's some physics equation/explaination that shows the forces the wheels exert when facing certain directions.Think of it this way, if the front wheels are pointing straight and the left rear wheel is spinning hard out, the car is more like to turn to the right than to the left isn't it simply because if you take the dead centre point of the car there's more rotational inertia in the clockwise direction. During gymkhana I could quite easily produce drifts and donuts when turning with the drive wheel on the outside rather than when it was on the inside.

    LSD

Andy, without an LSD turning right is very easy to produce oversteer, esp. when I had the crap barums on the car. When it let go it would be instant, not a slow here I am oversteer but a caught ya off guard here we go around oversteer.Impossible to produce on left hand corners due to that being the crown wheel side. LSD oversteer is much more fun and predictable and I would say definately laziness extremeness. I should say though that this all happened when I had that funny diff. I was getting some really mad out stepping under engine braking on the motorway which wasn't much fun to say the least, although they're just an instant correct themselves thing.
