  1. You should take a drive in Ian's 328, it's not a normal 328i174kw ~244hp? Is a manual and has a nice bodykit, plus it's hellrot E: Should point out that Ian's is an E46 and he prolly wouldn't let you drive it though...

    Post Deletion

I took my God given moderator rights opportunity to clean up the f/ex and g/box threads and pin them aswell as the "Uprades" thread for Grant - that would've given me a rather massive delete count. As a general rule I won't delete anything unless it stinks of deletion expectations.

    Exhaust Manifold

I don't think there's a difference between the facelift and prefaclift motronic engines manifolds although can someone else confirm this.

    Exhaust Manifold

Andy, I have the m20b20 and it's a single piece exhaust manifold. The b20 and b25 exhaust manifolds share the same two piece gaskets (with the heatshielding) so there's a strong possibility that the exhaust manifolds are the same. Andy, aren't the studs for the exhaust manifold reasonably susceptible to snapping when trying to undo the nuts??? Also, anyone, are the studs reusable or are they use once... Anyway, point being if you snap one of the studs when getting the manifold off it means a mission to replace the f**kers.
  5. Parts car now Note It has sports seats, 4 door ones, you need some new seats Tim...

    Moderators

Because the moderators can only moderate the forums assigned to them, they can't moderate forums that aren't.It used to be that the moderators could moderate in all areas but Andy changed that.

Yes, I got Glenn's Jamex super lows and they are real low, I can't get my jack under the chassis rail without someone else giving the car a little lift. The Koni's are good too, even on full soft the car doesn't bottom out very easily, full hard and it's all on!
  11. Discounts help, I get a 65% discount from state for having over 5 years claim free, add to that the alarm and fire extinguisher discounts and i'm paying $425 a year for $9k coverage with all the mods - which I have disclosed!!! Never had a prob with them and they fixed my first car after it was side swiped within several weeks of it happening. So long as you know your policy/agreement and stick within the terms then you should be sweet.

  13. Yes, the mercs you could have that would inspire would be the 190e 2.3 (and above) Cosworth, bloody good engine and i've seen one blatting around Manfeild putting out some nice tunes. Mercs have a tendency to feel "light" and "wofty" although i'm not sure those comments apply to the AMG models. After driving a new model C280 elegance I wasn't too impressed with the drive but the ride comfort was spectacular. Lowered black mercs are the pimpest rides you can have IMHO, although they're not for me as they're princess killers, aye Ian

About time you put those in TimIf you lower your car and don't change the shocks to something with a stronger dampner then you may bottom out quite easily (or get a bouncy feeling?) - just ask Tim about why he had to replace his exhaust and shocks... I think it depends on what shocks you currently have already and whether or not you get captive springs but generally speaking if you don't want to ruin your handling you should match your shocks and springs.

    Home Theatre

Martyn, do you read the Tone magazine??? They always do write ups on systems and the like, perhaps look at some older mags and checkout which systems got the best bang for your buck rating...

    Home Theatre

Martyn Heaven forbid me for saying this as i'm an audio nut but go down to LV Martin's in Melling and get a some componentry from them on a 12 month interest free deal. That way you can grab a decent setup for peanuts now then you can upgrade the pieces you want later on. They do have some decent stuff, B&W, English Wharfedales (not to be confused with the Aiwa Wharfedales), DB Dynamics...Sony or Denon 7.1 systems...giant 42" plasma and lcd screens!

I too think that it's a good price, would go for more than that I would've thought, again it comes down to whatever someone would pay for it.
