  1. Nailed it, pulled an adapter off, I would've never tried that. And just like that I have Radio again. Cheers @hotwire
  2. Apologies in advance if pictures are large, uploading from phone 12v to antenna confirmed. continuity across aerial is fine. I understand the grey feed from the c pillar is the main antenna feed? Where’s its home? And I feel like this plug end been changed?? Have few connections around without a male plug too, never looked at my old E39s this closely so no idea if that’s standard.
  3. Don't have the aux input unforutnately hqstu, a year or so short OK so I need to check the radio module in the boot, will try some continuity tests I'm thinking...I had a quick look and facelift E39s don't seems to have a lot of resources for diagrams? Good source/link anyone? Would the power to the radio module potentially have been disconnected I'm not getting a thing but static on am/fm bands.
  4. Hi Guys, On an E39 does the head-unit on the 16:9 Nav unit connect directly to the aerial booster on the C pillar or is signal received via one of the units in the boot? Trying to diagnose why I have no am/fm signal. My E39 used to have a dynavin installed but was removed, now I've refitted the factory unit....Would or does the dynavin install usually involve cutting into the aerial connection somewhere I can check? Cheers,
  5. Replaced by broken drivers side mirror plastics and had the air-con regassed recently. Just got the Radio and rain sensor to sort and she'll be mint.
  6. Yea was a decent amount in there! Nothing a bit of compressed air couldn't solve though
  7. CBF started its own thread so here’s a big poat, picked up another members silver 540i MSport with a damaged engine off trademe a couple weeks ago, this weekend I got both cars out to my parents farm and pulled both m62s from the silver 540i (chain slipped) and my old black 540i (electric issues) and swapped the good engine into into the silver body. Cleaned it up and reassembled the interior whenever it rained and after refilling fluids etc I managed to drive it home today! Safe to say my hands are f****d but we’ll worth the effort and experience! New tyres tomorrow and need to figure out how to get the OEM Head unit going again next. Pics:
  8. Will keep an eye on this, possible donor recipient for my electrically challenged 540i
  9. Combination of things. Lazy being one of them. Refurbing the rear set of DS2's and the front Style 66 tyres too worn for WOF. lol
  10. Cleaned the E36. Picked up a 328i exhaust cheap - hopefully an upgrade on the 323i single pipe.
  11. Was following a nice E30 on Saturday, Black 325i coupe (turbo) along Lunn Ave across to Stonefields. Plate was AHCxxx (?)
  12. Replaced cam sensor on the E36, now realize how bad it was running as feels like I’m driving a new car! Swapped in some new plugs for the hell of also.
  13. FS: E39 540i Motorsport 18X kms Auto WON'T START- While testing new DME and EWS module, wire from PIN 9 shorted, damaged harness under dash. Was running fine for ~1 month prior after an existing no-start issue. Looking for $3000 (less wheels and rack, to be sold seperately) will come on stock 16". Will part out as a last resort. Perfect for someone who wants to put in the time to fix and sell on or just part out. Also have an ME7.2 DME with immo off (EWS bypass) purchased as I thought I had an EWS issue or AFAIK perfect for anything with an M62 and definately M62 swaps. Cost me $600, selling for $500. 18x9 RD2 Wheels, no kerbing and repainted with good TZ700 tyres $800 Pro-Rack rood racks $120
  14. Saw the E46 the other day and wondered what was going on lol nice
  15. FYI Purchased an EWS bypassed (IMMO off) DME and the EWS module that came with it was faulty, shorted once I connected the battery and proceeded to melt an EWS module ground (pin 9) wire. So now I have to trace the dead/burnt wire up under the dash across to the passenger side choc block and find out why random accessory’s stay powered when the ignitions off. FML
  16. Hey all, Google fails me, looking for E39 ignition, EWS and starter diagrams? Hardly anything decent found, compared to older model info out there anyway. Cheers, L
  17. Went through this when I replaced my boot lid. Feel your pain
  18. A good friend has a hoist in his unit (behind your sushi shop) I can use whenever needed.
  19. Did some late night wrenching after my E36 failed WoF (front outter ball-joints loose). Removed Control Arms to replace the ball-joints. Got carried away and: Removed rear caliper and discs, cleaned up hubs and dust covers. I picked up some E46 328i rear calipers and discs to replcace them with as they're a slight upgrade on the E36 rear end. Will be on the hunt for 330i front brakes next. Pulled old shocks (labelled as 318is, in a 6cyl, may have contributed to soft rear end) before I upgrade the suspension front and back. Also have some new rear side window seals to replace the cracked and hardened ones on there atm.
  20. A completed E30 project is pretty rare

  22. Hans? Yellow E34 with red/blue on front end?
  23. Been a while since I've had an E30 coupe, but looks like the lower seatbelt sliders have been removed to make way for the cage?
