Sounds like a plan, I've got the parts sitting at home to do the 540i aswell, why not make a day of it!

Friday: E39 failed WoF for torn front control arm bushings, order from Schmeidmann. Saturday: Trial fit G260 driveshaft to E30-M30 (40mm short) need to source M20 G240 shaft, see old guibos destroyed, also trans cross member supplied for M30 conversion was wrong item, order both from Schmeidmann along with note to consolidate with previous order. Saturday: E39 won't start. Tow car to friends shop, scan reveals both keys aren't being recognised...Wait couple hours, car starts again? Sunday: Fire up E30-M30, much to my surprise, fuel pump wasn't priming but bridged relay to force supply. Open TB and engine dies. Swap ECU, no start, swap ECU back, no start or spark now? Thinking CPS issue. Monday: E39 doesn't start again, order 2 blank E39 keys and chips. Drive E36 to work, arrive smelling of burnt oil, valve gasket leaking. Sigh...Order from Schmeidmann

Damn this is cheap..If didn't already own one I'd jump on it, 540i's are so nice to daily!

As above need another wheel or 2 17x7.5" DS2 i.e. Style 39 - if anyone has spares kicking round? Cheers L

Used a bolt, hammer and slice of bread as a pilot bearing tool.

This must be where my old wheels and suspension went??

The E36 fitment Style 5's are a much higher offset and not as wide as the 5 series version. Wouldn't bother with them TBH

Finally fitted some nicer wheels to my e39, looks a bit too high now even though it's MSport suspension...might give autolign a call...

The E31 all day, aesthetically a much better looking car IMO Sure the engine doesn't stack up but that's not ever the sole factor when chosing a car

Oh if you find one (535i) with a cooked engine I need a couple engine bits to complete mine and have spares. Can offset purchase price etc...

Productive day today! Removed and sold my blue recaro seats Have money in the budget to fix up my black sets driver bolster, so those will go in the car eventually! Moved the M30 back to my place and got it in the engine bay for a test fit. Just realised I don't have trans bolts so if anyone has some lying around?? M3 (S14) flywheel resurfaced, M20 clutch kit and cleaned up G240 ready to go together also Will remove and finish res praying the engine bay hopefully in the next fortnight

As above, a DIY of the timing chain guides would be good if you're doing yourself?
