  3. I watched a video recently where a guy used red/maroon aerosol and thinners to restore faded/cracked seats very similar to yours. May be worth tidying up the front seats for not a lot of $

  5. Updated 1st post. New battery sorted rapid starter, slow crank issue. So engine turns over well. Pump doesn't run while cranking or prime when first switched to ACC, does run when relay jumped. No spark at plugs. Tested 12v at coil Have swapped in known working main and pump relays Have tested and swapped CPS DME ???

  7. Am tossing up the idea of a 3.0 or even a 2.8 assembly in my E36, the b25 feels dull. What kind of $ am I looking at now days for the crank/rod/pistons?
  8. Nice job, how long did you wait between clear coats? I always end up with a rough finish and need to do a lot of rubbing/cutting when I do touch ups

  10. I recall having some difficulty with the hard fuel lines and loom thats clipped or zip-tied further back towards the firewall? Once the manifold is off the rest was pretty straight forward. My old 530i plastic hose had cracked at the bend into the block and when the engine was hot you could hear a hissing noise if you got close enough which prompted me to replace it lol. Sounds like you're all done now anyway Gabe

  12. Ooo the old 530i vs 540i debate, has been covered alot in the past. Having had a 530i previously I do prefer the 540i - exhaust note is nicer and accelerates/pulls better. Fuel efficiency is an issue (short, low speed commutes for me).

  15. Got around to fixing up the dents in the rear end of the E36 over the weekend. Didn't end up respraying the top edge of the bumper, you can still see cracking in the paint but buffed up OK for now.

  17. This has been advertised on Facebook marketplace for months. Same guys had a few nicer cars for sale in the past too
  18. BMW through Schmiedmann, price was pretty good with a trade discount. I did, Olaf nailed it - not a lot of space when removing the 4 critical nuts/bolts, steering rack & sway bar in the way. Ball joint nut directly under strut...etc In other news, E39 EWS issues so the car doesn't want to start...DME being sent to Ray today for some magic.

  20. Got my E39 running again thanks to Gabe79, new keys coded and fired right back up. Then proceeded to drive E39 to workshop to replace the pair of front thrust arms, PITA job btw. Slight shimmy at 80kph now gone. WoF tomorrow.

  23. That's possible, the green/black wire connecting to one of the starter spades does ground the unloader relay. May have that and ignition spades around the wrong way, hopefully a quick fix for one of the problems. Tested my CPS and appears to be fine. Will rule that out for now.
  24. Looking for some advice on issues with my M30 swap: Rundown: M30B35 from a 199X 535i, G240 box, M3/S14 flywheel, M20 clutch and p/plate, M30 starter. ECU bosch 179 red label M30 engine loom. Issues currently present; 1) Fuel pump does not prime when key turned to ACC position? Google search does not help, pump should prime AFAIK. 2) ICV does not hum in ACC key position?
