Yeah, I'm doing it once, and doing it right...Will be getting the trackday Ground Control kit from the US.....once the guy answers my emails
-
Offers considered for everything.
-
Dan, your car looks choice as usual. I can vouch for light! the 16x8 Sportmax's I handled weren't much heavier than my 16x8 Advan RGs!
-
I'm with them, excellent service and a pleasure to deal with. Very very reasonably priced too! However, they may impose an annual mileage limit.
-
An idea of how they look/sit on a E30 Images from here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3639788
-
The ones that look like these? These come in 0p which need stretched tyres, rolled/pulled guards and MASSIVE camber to fit under the guards. They'd stick out another 60mm than factory! Driftit on here runs the 15x8 version and he's running something like 3deg neg camber?
-
Yes, Different crank-angle sensor placement. Have a search, I'm pretty sure it's been covered before.
-
Warning: Compared to bottlecaps they will REDUCE the inner clearance by 5mm. AND stick out another 45mm. So be prepared to roll/pull your guards.
-
Last chance: Thursday 8th May As above. I'm gauging interest on how many of you might like some new wheels for your e30. The price should hopefully be well under NZ$685 for a set of four. 16x8 ET15 offset Multistud 4x100 & 4x114.3 scroll down for pics These are from the US. I need to know ASAP So either reply to this thread or PM me. If I'm not allowed to organise groupbuys, then can admin take this thread down. Cheers.

As above. 323i PFL coupe 1983. About 150,000km I think? Has 51mm struts (I think? ) Interior is icky. Dash is one small crack in the usual place. 4x bottle caps with good tread (but poo-brand tyres). Bilsteins (I think?) Jamex Springs (I think?) 3.64 open diff 3.73 open diff (included) M20B23 motor unknown condition though. Can include a whole bunch of seatbelts. Has sunroof, but winder is gone I think? Brake ducted front lip All lights, etc intact. Disc brake rear end Ventilated fronts (I think?) NO BONNET, BOOT, DOORS OR GUARDS. $500ono Will include a getrag 260 for $300ono Selling as whole. NOT PARTING.

As above. Getrag 260 (box only) out of a 1983 323i coupe travelled about 150,000km. Good condition, was going to go in my race car but my car needed crank-angle sensors in the bellhousing. Needs new seals, but this is fairly cheap. So this will suit motronic 1.3 cars, or cars that don't need the gearbox sensors. $375

Welding the lip on the flywheel is easy-ish, but as we found out it's best to copy one from another flywheel and not a flex plate. If you're looking to install the crank angle sensors it is quite costly approx $300 as you need an engineer to drill the holes in the bellhousing.

Dan your car has some serious choiceness. It's embarrassing, your daily has a better suspension setup than my race car You'll have to take me for a ride in it! I'm still doing my homework on what suspension to use. I'd be keen to see the shock dyno graphs if possible? Just wondering how linear the monster bilsteins are. Also, what springs are you using?

Update: D2 doesn't have any sets in the country minimum wait for them is 4 weeks, and my tyre guy has convinced me not to waste my time with D2's as they can be unpredictable on track due to mis-matched and poor damping. So any ideas or suggestions? Looks like I'll be forced to save up and go for a Koni or similar setup...I do however need cost-prohibitive camber plates as well .
-
Do you need a spare tyre or spare rim? Or both? Post the dimensions of the tyre you want, might help.

I'm contemplating using these cheap coilovers....well, because they're so cheap. My car will be used for basic clubsport events, and being competitive isn't really on the agenda as long as my car feels like a go-kart and is more fun to drive. (right now with Jamex springs and street-sport bilsteins it's a bit of a boat...) I'm able to get a kit for $1100 (discounted from $1495) and I'm guessing an extra $400 for a cert. So totalling at $1500. This includes: -Adjustable top camber plates for the front -Solid rear strut mounts -pair of coilovers in front with 36 way adjustable damping (seperate height & preload adjustment) -pair of pillowball mounts -rear springs with adjusters -rear shocks with same adjustable damping, etc. -spanners/adjusters, etc, etc -Springs are 8kg/mm and 6kg/mm Seems like a lot of kit for the money...comparatively: Adjustable camber tops - $400 Koni Yellow - $800 King Springs - $340 Cert - $400 = $1940 $440 more than the D2 setup..with that $440 I can get front and rear whiteline adjustable sway bars.....and no I can't justify more than $2000 on suspension setup for a POS like mine. Now, the bad news: -Everything is anodized 6061 aluminium, this makes it pretty looking, lightweight, and relatively strong......but not as strong as steel bottomed shocks which may mean that these may bend in the unlikely event that I bounce off a curb at Puke. -I have driven a few cars with these in, they were hard and a bit bouncy...but they were FWD hot hatches, not sure how applicable the experience would be. -They used to have a bad reputation (leaking shocks, bent bits, unmatched damping/spring rates ) but this was before they revised the products. -I would go for BC adjustables or Daiyama as they cost the same and are a much better quality product, but alas I drive an '80s BMW and they are not available. Any advice guys?

Yup, I have a PFL 325i (M20B25) you need the gearbox with the flywheel sensor holes and the flywheel with the sensor lug. Although it is fairly easy to modify the flywheel for the sensor lug, it is much harder to drill the holes into the gearbox. Your other option is to convert to the crankangle sensor'd facelift system and use the sensor-less box and flywheel (more tuning options this way but $$$) If you have a facelift, I have a good condition getrag 260 (non-sensor hole) you can have for $350ono. (was going to use this but needed the one with sensors. The trade me link above (if it includes everything - trim, boot, shifter) is a good deal.

Braided lines vs larger master cylinder
JiB replied to CamB's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Hmm, braided lines, plus full bleed using RBF600 - installed today (cheers CamB). Brakes have gone from poos...to almost normal. Wouldn't say the feel is anything special either. Maybe my standards are just too high Well, pimp rotors and pads on the way. Any one got hook-ups for EBC or Hawk? -
Braided lines vs larger master cylinder
JiB replied to CamB's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Have just purchased a set of braided lines. Will post up if there's any difference. -
Any idea on the following: -width -offset -weight? Cheers.

Probably Neil Fraser on the Shore. Beachhaven ways, next to By'gone so I'm told. $400 ish. excluding modifications - cert only. HTH
-
They started working perfectly again.... I didn't do anything, maybe it's a dicky switch? Will check it out. Cheers.

As above. It's a PFL 328i with the rain-sensing function...the wipers have just stopped working completely? Still sprays the window washer though.. Have checked the fuses but all seem intact..can it be a ground to a wiper motor or something? Help please
