My Vanos Thread I did that a few years ago now, and jumped from 168 to 180kw at the wheels... It has a few pics of the seals that caused the problem.... Before doing that, I would get your DME scanned like hybrid has said...

a 10kg weight difference, would indicate the S62 is an all alloy engine versus the S54s cast iron block? correct?

Hi Guys, Have been trying to sort the vanos rattle for a while, and have been in touch with a crowd in Canada, that are about to release a kit to solve the issue... beisan systems is there name, and a real good crowd to deal with. Got the kit in a week or so ago, and did not get the vanos Timing spot on, so had to pull it apart and attack it again... and man is it good, the car is really quiet, and pulls really hard.... loving it! So far its looking good, will have to see in the long run, if it stays quiet... Just thought I would share if anyone else is annoyed with the Vanos Rattle and feels like there is no solution... there is. thanks to Ross at BM Workshop, Glenn at Botany Motorworx and Ray at Hellbm, was really good to bounce ideas off you guys. I ran my previous ride on Megasquirt and for a challenge got it going with ITBS off a GSXR... that was an awesome learning curve... go on.... Do it! however in your case, you already have EFI, so if it is able to be chipped, do that... I went with megasquirt as I had Bosh K-Jetronic which is old and shite! Cheers,
