  1. Yup. every single BMW car model with a petrol engine now has a snail attached, no more NA engines in the range. Not for performance reasons, but again due to the restrictive emissions and fuel consumption regulations.
  2. Very rare something(s) like these happen, not one but two "choice" moments in one long week-end. Firstly fitting new appliances in the kitchen I was very happy to find that the previous installer had done the jobs properly and everything was up to scratch and above-board, not dodgy lash-ups that needed to be removed and start again. Plus all the connections lined up exactly from the old units to the new, so install was a very simple remove and replace. Second thing, bought a Johnny Cash LP in the JB Hifi sale, one of six in the "American Records" series, when I activated the digital download code I not only got a copy of the albumn I had bought, but also the other five in the series, an excellent piece of luck. Lots of new listening to be done.
  3. You've put up a price and a picture with the link, so that's fine in the For Sale section. Nice car, GLWS!
  4. Do you know where the 330d is going to be sold? Mannheim maybe.

You would most likely get more for it selling the bits seperately, but then it's more hassle dealing with more buyers and probably take a while longer. A "package deal" has pros and cons for both sides. GLWS, let us know how much it ends up selling for!

As it is listed you are looking at around $500 - $1000 depending on exactly what parts come with it. If it is completely solid, no surface rust, no dings, good paint, etc then a few hundreds on top of that. Live rego is worth a couple of hundred as saves re-reg process if good enough to be a road car, not if it is only good for a race car base. Engine bay minus engine - is it also minus steering column and rack, loom, brake booster / brake lines, heater box, fuse box, exhaust, etc, etc.. lots of expensive bits in the engine bay besides the engine. One man's rolling shell is very different to another unfortunately, the more clarity the better, and the more likely to get top $$ as less assumptions need to be made.
  7. I've got a set of motors and wipers I can let go, not sure about "squirter rings" I've got the jets that push through the plastic grilles and a few other bits and pieces.

I know the E30 tax is on the rise, and this is a coupe, but unless I'm missing something I can't see that kind of value here. Maybe list more of the work done and what's included, rebuilt suspension maybe? Diff? Interior pics?? Engine bay??
  9. Pics of M8 in camo. Personally I love the fact that BMW are putting out more official photos of the cars in the camo and promoting the new vehicles before the official launch date.
  10. The regional president said that the new X3, due at the end of this year is the last of the current "design language" generation, the new models coming after that will have a new, more radical design language so expect more design cues from the new X2 than from the current model line up. Will have to wait and see in terms of the engine line-up, the V12 is possible if an M860i is entered into the line up, but that is unlikely as there is usually not a petrol engined M Performance offering and a full M in the same series, there rules are always changing though so you never know!!
  11. BMW M8. The BMW M8 is the icing on the cake of the sporty BMW 8 Series line-up. Munich. Alongside the ongoing development of the standard 8 Series, the engineers at BMW M are also working flat out on the M model. A fully camouflaged, early prototype of the future BMW M8 will be unveiled in a driving presentation as part of the support programme for the Nürburgring 24-hour race. Classical M features like larger air intakes, modified brakes and a sports exhaust with four tailpipes hint at the significantly boosted power and dynamic potential of the car and whet the appetite for a driving experience of intense emotional richness. “The conception and development of the standard BMW 8 Series and the M model run in parallel,” explains Frank van Meel, President BMW M Division. “The future BMW M8 will build on the genes of the 8 Series and augment its DNA with added track ability and generous extra portions of dynamic sharpness, precision and agility. It all flows into a driving experience that bears the familiar BMW M hallmarks and satisfies our customers’ most exacting requirements.” Development is also underway of a race-spec car – the BMW M8 GTE – to spearhead the return of BMW Motorsport to Le Mans: “The BMW M8 GTE development programme for our Le Mans comeback is in full swing,” says BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt. “Developing a new racing car is always exciting, and in the case of the BMW M8 GTE the anticipation is that much greater still. We can’t reveal any pictures yet, but I can promise you that the BMW M8 GTE will look spectacular. We are planning an initial roll-out for the first half of this year and are looking at giving the car its race debut in the Daytona 24 Hours in late January 2018.”
  12. Yeah time flies eh, I think I was there that year as well. Was it the time the young lad put his E30 M3 into the tyres and did quite a bit of damage? back on topic, it was a real M3 and not just a badge!!
  13. That works, very subtle and cool. Olaf, what year(s) did you go to Castle Coombe with the drivers club, I was there a couple of years?
  14. ^^this. If there's no price then it's out of the For Sale section.
  15. Hey Vinu, suspension is nothing flash, just a set of super-low springs with some fairly tired standard shocks. Looks a bit lower due to the 17" rims and skinny tyres. Ha, wadda you know, I'm part of the lower it and big rims brigade I mentioned, funny. In all honesty it is probably a bit too low and it affects the ride quality and the usefulness of the car. I am seriously thinking of putting the race series suspension into the vert and tidying up my 15" weaves for it, so it looks a lot more factory.
  16. Depending on the mods it does become a little bit harder to hide what is underneath, and it would be quite a twist of fate for a real M5 to be badged as a 518i. You could add an M badge to the 316i for extra added irony.
  17. Putting the manual in will definately INCREASE the value of the car, provided it is done to a decent standard. Any manual E30 is more desirable than an auto for the mass market, and especially the lower it and add big rims brigade that seem to be into E30s at the moment. As above, if you can get the parts for a good price, full conversion should be around $1,000 for used parts, add a couple of hundred bucks for replacing some of the worn out bits to do it right, and if you can do it all yourself (which isn't too hard) you will add more than that to the sell price of the car IMHO.
  18. Spotted not one, but two Ferrari 430 Spyders out Maraetai way on Sunday, both had the roof down - so it was officially a nice sunny day. Also spotted BM DUB (?) E30 Tech 2 cruising along the beachfront.
  19. Good question, I personally would go with the 316Ti badge as I have always loved a good sleeper, can be funny to see the looks on peoples faces when you surprise them with your "racecar in shitbox clothing"
  20. Took advantage of the glorious weather and took the vert for one more Sunday drive. Clicked over 80,000miles on the way back. Not bad for a 30 year old car.
  21. I was told that the new design language is going to be more "challenging" so likely to be more revolution than evolution. Personally I think this will be a good thing as there is a need for a jump to a new generation of external styling in particular. Compared to a number of rivals the designs are looking a little too conservative. Whether the new 8er is like that concept I don't know, but the closer it is the better (same for X2) for me.
  22. Possibly not the best choice of words, but I was trying to keep it in plain English rather than use industry jargon! lots of very exciting product in the pipeline right now.
  23. You can never have too many options... unless you are the customer... or the person trying to plan what stock to keep
