  1. The long winded way to take off the E46 bumper is to take off the black plastic mouldings (simply unclip) to reveal the fixings which you can the undo to remove the cover. Mine is an M-sport, so If you don't have the holes in the bumper can you see the bolt heads to get the socket on? Bolt is quite long so needs a lot of room to come out.
  2. One little screw in each wheel arch, then the two big Torx bolts in the bumper mounts which are accessed through the holes in the underside of the bumper. Whole lot then slides off.
  3. And the sun decided to shine! With The Stones on the stereo, and not much traffic on the roads. Is choice bro!!
  4. 412kW of twin turbo V8 goodness... With free fuel...
  5. Yeah it's been around a while, was rough as guts to start with but looks like it's been tidied up a lot. Having seen what some E30s are selling for now (and not just M3 / M325i / touring but also rough 318i autos) 10k for this is reasonable. Odd that the front apron is a Tech I not M3 when the rest of the kit is, but hey HO. Needs S14 + LHD if it's going to run the badges.
  6. That's the theoretical chemistry, but there's a bit more to it than that. Missed the bit where it said this had an Adblue system added (and even those have variable effects). Anyways will jump off my hobby horse now.
  7. If anyone is seriously looking to get one... Go for the ones with the two flagpole holders on the front!
  8. It's not the smoke you can see that's the only issue, NOx particulates are not visible even at very dangerous levels. EGR and DPF are both there to reduce NOx, not "smoke".
  9. Knowing how much the 6-cyl diesel engines are "Over-engineered" by ze Germans I would think that the extra torque and power wouldn't be an issue for the drivetrain (unless you drive it like a hoon all the time) and shouldn't have too much of an effect on the lifetime of the components. More interestingly, I see they have removed both the EGR and the DPF, so it now doesn't meet the emissions regulations, and as such is not techincally of a warrantable standard (unless it has been emissions tested by an approved agency, which i doubt). Very unlikely to be picked up by a Warrant Check though..
  10. Far from being resolved, just means that appeal has been thrown out of court. All that's happened is that more court costs have now been added to the Bill...
  11. From your original question I'm not sure which way you want to go. Are you looking for a set of dedicated track wheels / tyres, or a better set of rims & rubber for your daily? WIth the price of a decent set of used rims and decent semi-slicks, I would say go that route rather than compromising on the daily.
  12. ^^yup, for all things diffs, especially BMW ones, Kayne is your man.
  13. Ok will do. Cards are definately the houndstooth you are looking for. Got some photos, will try and send them through.
  14. A lot of these cars are manual, they can have some very unusual option lists.Often they have quite low spec levels, but with a high-cost option as the one they were testing. For example saw one that had cloth seats, and no auto-wipers/lights but fitted with Professional Navigation Package..??
  15. Found a set of rears with the houndstooth cloth in the centre section. Have given them a quick wipe over, will post up pictures soon.
  16. It just means that the details of the Options added by the "individual" division aren't linked to the central vehicle database, nothing James Bond at all I'm afraid. There are quite a few of the 991 optioned vehicles in NZ, we are about the only RHD country that has open border controls.
  17. Any reason why you are looking at the 530i rather than a 530d or even a 535d? If it's main reason for buying is towing, the low down grunt of the diesel (and much better fuel consumption when towing) would make it a better option IMHO.

You can list more than one item in the same post Rich! Saves filling up the For Sale section.. If I were clever enough I could merge them together. You did manage to put up prices and pics for them all (which is more than most can manage) so fair play for that!!
  19. Nice burgundy pre-fl E30 rolling on Alpinas round Howick way. Cool black and white plates as well. Anyone on here? Seen a few times so it's a cool daily driver.
  20. I will attenpt to extract them from the garage. Not sure about rears.. Will double check those too.
  21. I have a very nice set. But not really interested in swaps, money talks.
  22. I'm very interested. Can you throw up a picture of the rear set-up, then I will PM you
  23. What are the rears? Springs and perches only or shocks as well?
