Very true, Foxy, very true. However, everyone knows that for many years "England expects".. Oli, I think you would get better odds at the TAB, and they would be able to afford to give you your winnings!

Foxy, the hardest part to take about that England shambles was the fact that half the team weren't even trying. If they had played their hearts out, so be it, but to wander about aimlessly for 90mins in NOT acceptable.Funny thing is I have had more excitement watching the All Whites so far this tournament! I did not want to come across as knocking the team, they have done exceptionally well and are performing far, far above their individual abilities (its called TEAMwork England - take note). It was more at the escalating levels of expectation from bandwagoners and the chance that it will all turn sour very quickly on Friday (but hopefully not). Just as a side note, if you remember the Manfield round, the All Whites game was on the Sat. night, and I stayed at home to watch it with my old man (had it not been Manfield I would have been at the cake tin with my neighbours), so officially I am already on the bandwagon, and have been for somewhile. Ollie, I think you are getting a bit carried away with it all, yes they are on a roll, but having to beat Paraguay is a big, big ask. I'm not going to make any silly bets with you, look what happened to the last guy that did that ! Still a lot of football to be played yet, and a long way to go in the tournament, no-one ever won the world cup by playing well in the group games!!

I reckon it will last until about Friday morning... no offence but realistically the All Whites need to win, not just get a draw, to go through to the next round. The all the bandwagoners (good word!) will be looking for the next thing to get onto, some will stay around for a while and yes it is great for the game in NZ, it had generated more publicity and interest than most would have expected which can only help stimulate the whole game.As for people jumping on the bandwagon, I used to watch England home and away in the late 80s, early 90s, when you told people you were a football fan, you may as well have said you had leprosy and tortured small fluffy animals at the same time for the reactions you got. Now it's oh-so-cool to be a football fan, even though the game has been ruined by money and the atmosphere changed with big screens, cheer leaders and piped music, with the average Joe priced out of most events. Shame.
  4. As he was getting a bit humpy with all the questions, I thought I would point something out to him.. Hi, I note your comment: PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A GENERAL DISCUSSION BOARD BUT AN AUCTION. However, you also need to note: When you don't know what you are talking about, people will take the piss. Thanks. jon_the_pom (143 ) 9:26 am, Sat 19 Jun So far, no response, wonder why??
  5. Just a few bits and bobs that I have collected over the years.. Books & magazines F1 / Motorsport cap & T shirt Posters and photos for garage and office at work BMW parking only sign Slot cars and die cast models Wallpapers on home and work PCs ..so not much really. Still on the look out for a flag for garage / tent when racing, more models and slot cars and an E30 M3 that should be enough.

It's called making an atmosphere, it's what people like to do at FOOTBALL matches, make a bit of noise, shout, sing, jump up and down and generally have a pretty good time. All part of the experience of the game.Unlike rugby, where you sit on your arse and moan quietly, and if you're really lucky say "all blacks" really quietly a couple of times if they are winning.

^^ LOL the WORLD SERIES of all American teams, oh no, wait there are two Canadian teams in there as well!! I am badly out of touch with World Football now, so I must admit to not knowing as much as I would like about most of the other teams in the tournament. I do know that even with more structure and better tactics under Capello England will still not be good enough to win it, last four is the best we can hope for realistically. Brazil qualified well and seem to have a stable side, so I have very predictably gone for them, however I would love to see an African team win it, not sure if any are good enough though, the hosts seem too erratic at the back, not sure Drogba can carry a whole team (as he can't stay on his feet anyway ) so maybe Nigeria?? Will be fun, watching with my lad for the first time, I will get wound up, angry, depressed and throw things at the telly, but it's better than watching rugby!!
  8. Can get those Lenso's in the UK supplied with decent new tyres fitted, plus new wheel bolts, locking bolts, hubcentric rings (if needed) for less than that price!!
  9. I've got a set of all four here in pretty much mint condition if Oli's don't work out.
  10. Yes that one is VERY nice, I have been trying to speak to the seller on that as well, but he is not very responsive which makes me a little cautious. If it was purely a road car, then I might well favour this over the M3 as you say it's a great sleeper, however, I love the E30 M3 and have always wanted one, plus there are plans afoot
  11. Looking at the photo I had a number of Sony headunits of that era, and they were particularly bad for blowing fuses on the back of the unit, take it out and there should be 2 x mini blade fuses on the back of the unit. Check those first, then try pressing the "reset" for a minute or two with power to the unit.
  12. Quite a good looking E30 M3, would be interesting to know what was under the bonnet, was it running on track at all? There are certainly better E30 M3 race cars in NZ, I would say that one wouldn't even make my top 3 (engine department pending).. 1) Denny Hulme's B&H M3 from Bathurst 2) Conrod's new car (from what I hear ) 3) Conrod's old Bastos car. When you are in the race series you will see a few more of the E30 M3s and there are some real nice ones, with more to come (hopefully ).
  13. That was a BIG accident, even at normal speed on TV, for that guy to be there and get those shots is 1 in a million, looks even worse in still shots. Clearly shows how well the drivers safety capsule held together, even through that accident which is pretty impressive.
  14. Foxy, do you think that would be realistic with a $10k budget? Are you allowing a lot of your own time to do the work, and your contacts to get good prices on parts? Would have thought even allowing for those you would still be over the $10k, could be very interesting.
  15. I did think of ordering one on-line, but I need it like yesterday really! I have given up waiting for the pound to get back to a reasonable exchange rate against the NZD to bring some money over to buy a car here, so I am looking to buy one in the UK and ship it over. The red E30 M3 with the S50 as featured in the magazine is for sale on eBay at the moment, finishing in just over one day, which is why I was after the magazine quickly. eBay linky link: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...e=STRK:MEWAX:IT Listed at 11.5k GBP, which at current rate is around NZ$25k
  16. Has anyone out there got the May edition of Performace BMW from the UK by any chance? I tried the best local magazine stores today and could only find the April one. I am interested in the article on the red E30 M3 with the S50 engine in it, if someone could scan it and post it up that would be great!
  17. Wayney is a member on here, there are a few reviews and feedback on his extractors in a number of threads if you search for them, often he will list them in the For Sale section, or just send him a PM (username wayney).
  18. Missed my favourite one... "An Engineer says the glass is twice as big as it needs to be"
  19. It's the $12.50 M badge that has been stuck on the boot that makes it an M3, didn't you know, that was the only difference from the factory ?? If it was an M3 badge stuck on then in my book that is a crime punishable by death.I have a saved search on TradeMe to e-mail when any E30 M3s are listed, and I get an e-mail every day with at least one POS like this with M3 in the listing, annoying!
  20. If the dizzy cap and rotor are pretty much brand new then I will have them back please ! Not sure if they got taken off by the seller before he brought you the car - I did remind him!
  21. Yup, I have a m20b23 full engine sitting in the garage, I can whip the rocker cover off to check the cam, rockers, etc. if you are interested. Let me know the results of checking your cam for wear. Cheers, JTP
  22. I'll throw in my 2c worth.. Persevere with the project, yeah its a pain, but how great will it feel when it's finished? If you stop now and sell or part out you will lose heaps on the deal, without the enjoyment of driving it completed. Take a break away from the project for a couple of weeks, do something different to forget it, spend time with the g/f or whatever. Then start to do some more research, plan it all out on the garage wall, or big bit of paper (but be realistic - it won't be finished in 2 weeks). Only then get stuck back into it, refreshed and re-grouped.
  23. ^^ That's an extra 10hp right there !! Must've run out of satin black .
