  1. That is true, but I wouldn't put Cameron in anywhere near the same class as Lennox, and I don't think he has got anywhere near the same reach, which helps with that tactic. Fingers crossed for a good, close fight, would make a nice change....
  2. Cheers Dan, I have got the Experience clip as well from Speedhunters. I preferred the youtube clip as it was longer, and was more in-car than all the artsy stuff from the promo. But, man, that thing sounds mean, how I would love to have a race car that made a sound even half a brutal as that noise ....maybe one day!
  3. Missed this yesterday, so a belated HB today! Grow old, but never grow up!
  4. Rangies are the ultimate in shooting wagons, so this H&H is a great idea, I'd love one. Get to some seriously out of the way place, decimate the wildlife, good drink and lunch, all back in the Rangie and home for tea - spiffing. I think they have done their research as the old boys I used to go beating for liked a good drink with their lunch, always made the afternoon shoot interesting for us, "WAIT UNTIL THE BIRDS GET UP" !!
  5. Some great shots, good in-car and glorious, glorious noise!!
  6. Looking like it is going to be a great facility - soooo looking forward to our first race meet there, fingers crossed it will be all go at the end of November. I see Mr Ollie was there checking out the track I expect he was making engine and braking noises on the way round as he was working out his lines !
  7. Hey Kerry, pics of the E30 chrome bumpers would be good. Cheers, JTP
  8. My 2c.... In terms of the finish you can get there would be little difference if you take your time with the can. The main reason I would recommend taking to to a pro would be to get it painted in 2K paint with a 2K clear coat over the top, which would give a much tougher paint. In an area like the front lip which is prone to stone chips the tougher paint will last a lot better than paint from a can.
  9. Description: was being driven by an employee at a nearby BMW dealership where the owner of this car had it in for service. Driver barely slowed down for stop sign, took a left turn a little fast, rear end swung out, driver lost control. Car spun around, hit curb in median, and struck tree on right edge of photo. Yellowish material stuck in hinge of passenger door is tree. There were no tire marks between the tree and where the car came to rest, indicating significant bounce off of tree. Service tickets on ground next to tree were placed there by very upset but uninjured driver. Location: Dallas, TX "Hi I've come to pick up my car that was in being serviced...... WTF???"
  10. Looks amazing in the photos, can't wait to see it in the flesh at a race meet. I hope Mr. K-B Snr. won't mind me dribbling on the paint work !
  11. ROFL at Ollie the Love Doctor!! Good Luck Brook, hope all goes well, sounds & looks like she's worth the efforts.
  12. Sun shining, family in the E30, roof down, heading to the beach
  13. Straight line drivers - hoon along at 120ks+ on a straight bit of road, first sign of a bend.... ....slam on the brakes and crawl round the curve, usually braking mid-corner as well Don't these people realise the curvy bits are where the fun is in driving ??
  14. At one point yesterday there were FIVE E30 M3s listed on TradeMe, that must be some sort of record? With the three minters at $35k+ though I think the term 'pick and choose' only applies to a very few people!
  15. Blimey, don't let Mr Kebab know that - he will get withdrawal symptoms if he doesn't get his four buckets of Starbucks every day !Back on topic, I am beginning to really hate HT Truck drivers and their "my truck is bigger than your car / motorbike / bicycle so get the fcuk out of my way" attitudes. It's not only arrogant, it's downright dangerous.
  16. Not me this time! Although I admit to driving like a Nana in the reverse grid race to keep the new paintwork intact. I think it was John Blewitt who went off into the gravel trap to cause the safety car and yellow flags My last race in the slow group was one of the most enjoyable I have had in the series, group of about 5 cars, close to the back of the field but, lots of passing and moves and no-one touched, great stuff . Open Class was awesome to watch some great cars, although I did miss Conrads E30 M3, looking forward to seeing the next one. Will post up some pics in the showroom section soon, roll on Manfield for more fun
  17. They are a real hot number, looks like any M-Tec 2 from the outside but with the sweet S14 engine, not too sure on suspension set up. A couple of yeas ago they were a real unknown bargain buy, but recently they have been "discovered" by more people and the prices have shot up to the point where they are close to full blown M3 money.Look at the example shown, the guy is after 8.5k pounds, against the white M3 for just over 11k. Both have CF air box and performance mods and look to be well looked after. For an extra 2.5k I know which one I would go for.
  18. Just seen the new schedule with the Enduro race at the end, not sure how we will get all the cars on the grid for the race though?? Perhaps they are expecting a few to have dropped out by then. New schedule has the two E30 groups back to back, which is a nuisance as I like to watch the other group racing, but then it's up to the organisers!
  19. Oh great! Just what I don't need, more fun and games in the wet at Pukekohe I'm kind of wondering if it is worth finishing the car - as it's likely to get damaged again this week-end. Luckily I have managed to get some new "wets" to go on the car, just got a whole load of other stuff to sort out. Getting there for practice is looking most unlikely at the moment, fingers crossed.
  20. ^^ If you pick me up and drop me home I'm more than willing to lend a hand, if you provide refreshments for the duration Can't make the 11/12/13 as I have a previous engagement at Pukekohe, the next week end is Ok, if I can bring the kids A second hand engine in reasonable nick would be OK for racing with, just don't expect to be anywhere near the front of the field! On the plus side it will get you out there racing, on the downside you will forever be working on the exisiting car and engine, the spare race engine will always be waiting for time and or money (this from one who knows, I now have TWO spare engines, one for a E30 build and the other for Open class). To me, the plus outweighs the minus.
  21. The oil guage adaptor plate, is that for an M20 engine, or would it work for an M20 engine? Guessing the water hose adaptor is pretty much universal? Cheers, JTP.
  22. Wonder if there was a boot badge as well ?
  23. People who take E30 M3s out in the rain should have them confiscated and given to owners who will appreciate them more and look after them ! Fair play to you for taking them out on the track in those conditions, i hope they all went home unscathed but suitably driven .
  24. If anyone in a shop, garage, etc. says to me "it's any easy fix" my reply is usually along the lines of "it won't take you long to sort it out then will it?" with a few choice expletives if necessary. Nothing like customer service...
  25. "There is a great need for sarcasm font" Amen to that brother!! - Admin, anything you can do?
