  1. THE GYNECOLOGIST WHO BECAME A MECHANIC A gynecologist had become fed up with malpractice insurance and HMO paperwork, and was burned out. Hoping to try another career where skillful hands would be beneficial, he decided to become a mechanic. He went to the local technical college, signed up for evening classes, attended diligently, and learned all he could. When the time of the practical exam approached, the gynecologist prepared carefully for weeks, and completed the exam with tremendous skill. When the results came back, he was surprised to find that he had obtained a score of 150%. Fearing an error, he called the Instructor, saying, "I don't want to appear ungrateful for such an outstanding result, but I wonder if there is an error in the grade?" "The instructor said, "During the exam, you took the engine apart perfectly, which was worth 50% of the total mark. You put the engine back together again perfectly, which is also worth 50% of the mark." After a pause, the instructor added, "I gave you an extra 50% because you did it all through the muffler, which I've never seen done in my entire career".
  2. Seems to be a sudden increase in the number of E30 verts for sale on TM just recently, probably trying to get max $$$s by selling in the summer. A real wide choice and different options for anyone looking. From this 325i manual... http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-273556561.htm Or this 325i manual (put some Alpina reps on and it's my twin ) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-266475508.htm Good condition 325i auto (don't do it Tom - you know you want to keep it!) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-267502482.htm Through to this 325i auto that needs some tidying up http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-272307523.htm Also a couple of 320i on there and a few Baur for those of that persuation. Not a half decent one to be had before I brought mine out, now there's a choice - typical!
  3. I've got a pair of rear rubber pads and set of std springs in Palmy if that helps to get you through the WoF and mobile?
  4. That is probably comparing the inter-connect cables, HDMI, DVI, types. Speaker cables run over much longer distances, especially with a home theatre install (I used 3 x 50m drums of cable on mine) and the effect of the cable quality is much greater.
  5. A couple of points to bear in mind before you get too far into it all.... firstly how big is the room that you want to put the gear in? The all-in-one box amp, sub and small speakers packages are just about Ok in small rooms but any decent size and you will need more power and bigger speakers to fill the room with sound. Second point, how good is the sound card in your PC, if you get a decent set up for the surround, it will show up any problems with the card, not forgetting you would need a digital output to be decoded for proper 5.1 surround. Personally I would vouch for the comment above, go for an entry level amp from a good brand, Yamaha or Denon are the best in HT, with a reasonable speaker package and good thickness speaker cables.
  6. If you are aiming to become a known and recognised label then the brand image is the most important thing, having a name which points to a specific style / fashion would be very risky if the actual clothes were NOT for that market. Seriously would suggest you identify what market you are aiming to sell to and then develop a name and brand image that locks into that.Having experienced the original Punk movement first hand, I still find it odd that people associate punks with Nazi's, while the imagery was used (German helmets / uniforms / swastikas) to shock people and create a reaction, the whole politcal ethos behind Punk was extreme socialism, claiming things for the people. Listen to the lyrics on God Save The Queen and Anarchy In The Uk, not exactly Nazi anthems are they?? Back to the point, the T-shirt design is good, only suggestion would be to increase the size of the cut out person to make it stand out - possibly another colour than white - or would it be the colour of the T-shirt coming through? Good luck with the venture, even if you don't become the next Huffer, you can still make a decent living at it.
  7. No, no, no, no, NO, Sh!t, NO! Why do cars this good and well looked after only come up for sale when I am totally skint? Do you do layby at all Atta? Or want to p/x a 325i 'vert??
  8. +1, looking at how the water is flowing in the photo he is heading UP-stream, always best to head DOWN stream, causes less of a bow wave up the front of the vehicle and is generally easier / better! Lucky it was only on one cylinder, must only have been a small amount of water.
  9. Looks good from the outside, but how many fake trees had to be killed to produce all that fake wood trim??
  10. Phew, what a relief, 1) we're back, 2) it wasn't just me!! thought for a while it was a blocked site at work - but i was too aftraid to ask Glad it's all back up and running, was spending far too much time dreaming about E30 M3s on racecarsdirect.com
  11. ^^ Not sure if you noticed, but that dealer is in Northern Ireland, might make it a bit more difficult to import. Interesting place for a holiday as well ! One dealer to steer well clear of on AutoTrader is Big Motoring World, the guy has been around for years under different names, all starting with BMW, keeps getting taken to court by BMW Ag. not surprisingly. He specialises in used BMWs, but most are base model ex-lease or ex-rental with moon miles, some allegedly clocked back, chucks some replica alloys and a leather interior on them to sell as higher spec cars. Absolutely no interest in the car once sold, even threatened my mate with "I know where you live" just because he asked for the service books to the car he had bought and been promised!!
  12. I do have a soft spot for the British Racing Green (for obvious reasons) but I would have preferred the black and gold colour scheme from the old Lotus JPS cars - ahh childhood memories.
  13. Ahh, the joys of the metric system, amazing how many people still don't get it and how often the decimal place is put in the wrong place . Never had this problem with proper measurements - feet and inches
  14. Hope you have a good one mate! Another year older, another year wiser!!
  15. Jeez Danno, you don't half seem to get yourself into some scrapes! Are you just unlucky, or a bit of a gangsta on the side Hope you get it all sorted mate, but I don't rate your chances of getting any cash soon.
  16. Looks like it was in a frontal accident before the fire, possibly the cause?I saw the burnt out 'vert as well Andy, what a choker. Shame I didn't see it early as it has now been started to part out. Hope to be getting a few bits off it soon.
  17. You mean Britain is no longer part of the EU - Hooray, at last! Pack the bags love we're going back!Just checked, and unfortunately Britain still hasn't come to it's senses and is still ruled by Sausage and garlic munchers based in Brussels. Being even MORE pedantic, a Morris is ENGLISH not BRITISH, made entirely in England. Playing guess the brown car, I'm not sure on the Avenger, possibly a late square headlight model, edge of guard is not right for early round headlight. I would say, a Morris Marina (keeping in the Morris family)?

  19. From the clip it is hard to work out what country that is from, but wherever it is NO WAY would I ever want to race there - some very poor driving and as you say the stewards let them get away with it! Maybe they are practising for the V8 Utes ?
  20. Of course it is, the body kit we make for those isn't cheap you know !Just thinking about it Dan, would the turbo motor give you the right sort of power delivery you need for towing, as opposed to the V8? Low down torque as opposed to mid-to-top end grunt?
  21. They seem to be quite a strange lot up in Whagarei, it must be something to do with the heat and humidity Personally I would say look for something diesel and double-cab, but then you don't have ankle biters to worry about although the fuel bill could be a bit scary especially when towing!
  22. Have you seen the project that Freemo has listed on TradeMe? http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=28075 A bit of work to finish, but I would say it is about 85% there for an E30 series car. Speak nicely to your dad for a few $$$s up front?
  23. "After attending a party in Havelock North, Kight entered a friend's house on Iona Rd about 1am. He searched the property and stole sunglasses, designer watches, jewellery, laptop computers, cell phones, cameras and other electrical goods" Hmm, some friend there. With all those excuses, sorry disorders, surely it would be a good idea to steer clear of drugs and booze? Thankfully a rare and extreme example of youngster's behaviour, but in no way is it a one off.
  24. The E36 M3 cannot currently be imported and used on the road, need to wait a few years until they are over 20 years old and then can be road registered. E46 should be Ok if you can't wait until then.Another good site for more private sales, rather than the dealers on Auto Trader, is www.pistonheads.co.uk especially good for M3s and performance BMWs.
  25. The only downside to the internet, gives a voice to every idiot loser in the world!
