  1. +1 The rear arms swap is pretty well doumented (watch out for the +12mm track each side) but that is a front set-up I have not come across before so will be interested to see how it works out geometry wise.
  2. Yup, and the front and rear bumpers. Lots of layers of paint, but otherwise in very good condition.
  3. Correct, ETK confirms part number 1 179 774 was used on 5, 6 and 7 Series. E30 M3 15 x 7 Rim is a different offset (ET:30) and different part number 2 225 375

    M TOY M3

Now you HAVE to track it! #becauseracecar
  5. Lazy dealer not putting all the info into their Dealer Management System (DMS) and the just auto generating their TradeMe listings off the back of the data. All these systems are great, if used properly.. crap in = crap out. Still no excuse for the photos though.
  6. Wow, that is in great condition! Price is relatively high, but for an NZ new touring I would think it would be close to that. Managed to get some E30 M3 parts from TradeMe without the tax... happy as, and the seller was a real legend too.
  7. That is a good effort at really not doing a good job, the level of premium you expect from “Great Wall Motors” I guess. On a side note someone must have traded up from their X5 into a Great Wall..?
  8. I would love to Olaf, I keep saying every year that I will be doing it.. but the chances are pretty remote as I have too much to do on the car, and heaps of other things going on at the moment. You never know though, the garage pixies might finally show up and do some work for me..
  9. It's actually a very much local thing, thanks to the NZ version of the E30 325i Sport being badged as an "M325i" in this market. That seems to have lead to lots of people putting M badges in front of the model designation here, I've never seen it in any other market, even the UK or Aussie. This, however, is the proper badging on this model as it is an M Performance version, with as Glenn says, the power and performance to go with badge and other blingy bits.
  10. On the way home yesterday also spotted a LHD 7 Series LCI on German number plates, proper ones not the cheap way to get Euro plates ones, going the other way. Must be some Erics over here doing some testing of some sort. I was driving so didn't have chance to get a snapshot.
  11. Other person "I've just got a new truck" Me "cool, what make is it, Kenworth, Freightliner, Mack..?" Other person "It's a Ford Ranger" Me "a Ute, you've just got a new Ute" walks away. You could possily call a ute a car, as most of them still have car(t) springs in the back.
  12. Immitation is the sincerest form of flattery? Lots of people want an M3, but can't afford to own or run one, so try to make their car look like "the real thing". At least this guy / girl has gone to some effort and not just chucked a badge on the boot.
  13. There are a number of different settings for DRLs, can be always on (except when other lights on ie night) or selectable through iDrive menu (switch on/off).
  14. Nice E30 cabby heading towards Napier/Hastings this morning with the roof down. Anyone on here or HB members know?
  15. In the case of the original poster, no, as their car is an X5 3.0Si M-Sport, which is a completely different beast to an X5M.
  16. Not so sure about that, much cheaper to get ADR approval versus EU standards, so more viable in a larger market like Australia. TRD Aurion and HiLux projects I worked on were built and sold in Aussie but not complied for NZ. It is worth pointing out that whilst NZ and Aussie are neighbours and both have RHD vehicles the regulations and compliance standards for the two countries are very different.
  17. Yup, there common as muck up here in Auckland. The Back to the Future one is absolutely epic (if you are into that stuff) flux capacitor, time / date settings all work, car drives, etc. So well done. Wonder what happens when you hit 88mph in it...?
  18. That's the issue, as soon as the car is modified from the form of the standard vehicle that has been tested by BMW all the factory approvals and homologation go out the window. Things may have (surely must have...) from the days when a loophole was used for the cars to be on the road in the EU, with nothing "official" to cover the modifications. Could possibly be complied as a Used Import, or LVV type situation, but again, how can you prove the crash testing / frontal impact standard if the car has not been tested for that?
  19. An AU specific press release on the B3, again the S58 is specifically mentioned in the text on this one, and referred to as BMW M's latest engine - which it is.
  20. Hmm, nice car, but at US$63k I would much rather the red one with the S54 and keep a nice chunk of change.
  21. Lots of E30 on there, I take it this is the one you are referring to @skidz? With the swapped S54. Just closed at US$23,000 which is a pretty good price for a very cool car. It's now in the recently finished auctions section if people are looking for it. Nice build, none of those horrible USA bumpers and quite the sleeper. Do like.
  22. Haha, very true. I only have the vert on the road for summer cruising (Nov - Apr) and then sh’s tucked in the garage for a rest over “winter” (May - Oct). Totally passes me by that it’s November next week - fark! Better get my skates on with the jobs to do on her.
  23. Without the motivation to do something productive I moved various sets of wheels and tyres around in the garage and cleaned some. Put my 15” weaves with the semi-slicks onto the ‘vert so I can take the Alpina reps to get the tyres taken off. After approx 20 years the Avons have given up and started to crack on the inside wall, which is a real shame as they have heaps of tread left.. Will use the opportunity to clean up the road rash on the edges. Also took the ‘vert for a spin around the block to keep everything moving and loose while she’s sidelined for winter.
  24. I should be able to find the part numbers for you from the parts i’ve Just put in my 330d.
  25. Strange that changing the shock has affected the ride height that much. The spring is the predominant factor for the ride height, the shock is there to damp down the oscillations in the spring. If the “neutral” position of the shock is a different point it could make a bit of a change to the ride height, but 30mm is a big number. Has everything settled and seated fully when the car has sat back on the ground? Might settle a bit more as you drive it around, but probs not by 30mm.
