  1. Yes, it would appear this is the new “design language” with imposing road presence. It is clearly going to be very polarising, even more than the latest big grilles models, which may or may not prove to be a good thing. As you say time will tell. #irkthepurists
  2. Top seller, fast contact and easy pick up. Would trade again. Recommended A+++**
  3. Any alternator for an M20Bxx engined model should bolt straight on to your engine. From experience there are a number of different sized ones that all fit, the 325i one was pretty big but I don’t know the electrical rating sorry. The M20 5-Series might be bigger still as they had more electrics in them. Check your wiring is in good Nick and should be ok to update.
  4. Did you get the codes cleared? Not sure these ones just clear themselves when issue is fixed.
  5. There’s a 90s looking showroom now available in Takapuna... already fitted out with BMW decor, if you’re keen?
  6. Was down in the Hawke’s Bay, so less chance of pollution / infection I hope.
  7. No, luckily they only had to go halfway up the shin to clear the dressing.
  8. Silly old fools, who should know better, having accidents at the beach! Yes I was that fool, slipped and cut my foot open on a rock. After a bit of a panic due to the amount of blood coming out, made it to the medical centre and had six stitches put in the cut. No driving a manual for a few weeks..
  9. Just the job, need a pair of these for the Mrs’ 1 Series. I’ll take ‘em please. If you’re in no rush I’ll pick em up first Sunday of March?
  10. Asks if anyone has experience, gets responses of people’s views and opinions. #gottalovetheinternets. First question, which generation of 330e are you looking at, the F30 or the new G20?
  11. Taken from the BMWblog Instagram feed, production front end has been leaked..
  12. Higher oil temps + sealed CCV systems = vapour being passed into intake air and burnt? Tolerances now are tighter than ever on engine parts, which is why the vast majority of engines don’t need “breaking in”. Only the “S” engines in the M cars need running in as they have even tighter tolerances.
  13. Guess which end of the concept made it through into production..?
  14. Low Kms, great condition and lots of history... but still not a $200k M3. Although EAG in the states seem to ask those sort of prices and still sell cars.
  15. Spacers MUST be certed or they are illegal and insurance is void. Also, they need to be a specific type, check with your local certifier. Pretty sure you can’t get slip ons certed so need to be bolt on.
  16. Apart from the extra bracing and stiffening in the body, yeah. It still doesn’t make up for chopping the top off. Folding hard tops are even worse, warmer to drive in winter, but heaps more weight and still pretty flexible - even with the top up! ’verts for cruising and driving in a straight line, Coupes for the twisties.

Oh good, another one on the NZ market...
  18. If you go Subaru or similar you are probably going to need adaptors to fit which can be a pain with a cert. BMW replacements should be easier to get certed. Not sure what car you are trying to upgrade by an E46 M3 rear end is a good call. Hubs are usually ok for taking more power, it’s usually the half shafts that fail - so they could do with beefing up.
  19. Hmm.... Beige. Can dye the leather but carpets would need to be replaced with something more practical. Wood trims could be wrapped easy enough.
  20. Pretty well, it’s being updated on Facebook.
  21. Pretty sure it’s from first registration. Go to www.nzta.govt.nz and search on there, that will tell you.
  22. Trying to remember which year was a "W" plate, but then it could be younger than that as it looks to be a semi-personal plate with the "ALP" bit. If it's over 20 years old it should be Ok, otherwise it could be a long job proving it meets the Euro IV and frontal impact regulations.
  23. Not really the NZ market, it’s the NZ market for dreamers, tyre kickers and rivet counters. Not many serious buyers of those cars on TM, if any.
