Now with oil temp gauge thanks to Matt... few little errors still to solve but its working! @promo have you got the gear to clear the eeprom on a kombi?
-
Oooo right in the 2006 model, Ill keep my magnesium rocker cover rather than costs saving plastics thankyou very much 😛

If your wheel widths allow it go for a square setup on tyres, they're way more entertaining when driving with enthusiasm. Stagger just results in understeery.

Help with wagon recommendations (first BMW)
Jacko replied to Mop's topic in New Member Introductions
Definitely 6 pot, N52B30 is a peach - E91 330s E61 530s are the wagons. You'll get a nice one with that budget, and have spare for a stereo. I wouldnt consider a 530 sporty or fast, its a big car with an average sized engine, 330 is pretty fun to hustle though. If you want to go fast E91 335 with the N54 engine, but you'll be spending more in maintenance. -
Its happened, BMW are officially dead to me... the BMW ix50

I keep seeing cars for sale on trademe that I only want bits of....
-
Dripping in dealer silicon slime, but performance exhaust and bumper - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/130i/new-listing/3121995044?bof=Kpg39Gu3

Looks very nice though, has the rocking horse sh*t rear tweeters too - https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/bmw/new-listing/3123463490?bof=Kpg39Gu3

Thats pretty slick, todays BMW will never make it though.

What is curious is ive done 160,000km on these wheels and never bent them before, only real difference this time around is RE003s Vs F1 Assy 3s... coincidence or stiffer sidewalls?
-
stop smashing into potholes probably best bet
-
Yeah tyre shop found em when went to balance. VTNZ is close... I did look at the tech when he was looking at the 3kg of balancing weights on the wheel though
-
Went and got two new tyres for a wof, discovered all four wheels buckled....$#&@ ... bolted them back on and went straight through a VTNZ wof. Now jacked up and all wheels off to be made round again. Too much dukes of hazard I think.

What condition ks and condition, N52B30s seem to be around $1400 mark in good nick (long block) I imagine the box is probably worth about the same?
-
The interior is pretty beaten up, but the exterior was worse. Lots of cracked paint and butchery etc, its had a hard life of flat peakers I think. If you could pick it up for like 6k would be OK, either turn it into a track car or spend a lot of coin to making it nice again (needs full panel and paint, and the mechanical issues)
-
Yeah it is the same car, re registered.... Have pics if anyone's interested, might make a good track hack.
-
Made it shiney again, Soft99 KoG. Bestest wax ever.
-
If thats the same one that was up for sale last year, it was a basket case and not worth anywhere near that unfortunately. The DMF was dead, throw out bearing sounded like a gas turbine, rear arch lips butchered and evidence of rear end respray (and bird shitted on 4 pot muffler to get a wof after someone lopped the stock muffler off)

Id be buying an exige for the twistys and a generic diesel euro luxo barge for traffic.
-
N52s have a variable displacement pump, so oil pressure changes depending on what its doing 😕
-
Yeah mine has the same, pops up more when I have to revert to 95/96 octane gas rather than its usual 98. The solution is equal length headers and a tune
-
Will tell you soon Ive tweaked my CBS to every 7000km, works well.
-
There is a black 118i around here somewhere with those on em, its certainly... different.

Installed, works flawlessly, all the plastics etc are as good as OEM. Interesting its not a ripoff of the OEM part, theyve designed it from scratch... cant really complain at all.
