I have HELs, from amazon I think, no issues at all and no cert needed (cert man even commented, nice brake lines ) been through probably 6 WOFs with them. Don't quote, but I think the deal is if they are swaged fittings, no issues. I wouldn't suggest aliexpress units, but if you go BFgoodrich/HEL/etc I doubt you'll have any issues.

In with Skoda at moment, confirmed they will be installing its third waterpump and thermostat as good will. Customer service from Skoda seems good so far...

The 130i market worldwide is slowly climbing in value, places like canada can get access to the JDM stock as of late last year... its drying up... NZ's in a weird little bubble of cheap 130s, it will pop at some point.

Id consider that to be a win. If you like the noise of a 116, you will love a 130

Thats a pretty cheap quote in fairness, parts and hours priced are low.

There really isnt a small economical 1 series that isnt going to get slaughtered at being small and economical compared to something like a Corolla/Mazda 3/Other Japanese/Korean generic small car etc.. Most reliable 1 series will be 130i of the E87 shape, still not without issues, but they are also worth fixing... where as a 116 really isnt unfortunately. Could be a solid argument made for a 120d/123d as well, as the diesel 4 pots are better than the petrols, but still have issues, and it depends hugely on how you drive (not happy at city driving for instance). 116 is really the worst of the lot . F20 shape is more modern, but still have issues. As above, go throw the CGA at your dealer and tell him to fix it.

In all honesty.. Itll cost you more than the car is worth to fix it unless you DIY and shop smart for parts.

LVVT Rules say if meet the above, doesnt need to be OEM, the rails/seats were designed to be stressed seat. Id rather put factory seats back in than chop up the tunnel.

At my wits end trying to find certification data on late 2000 early 2010s Recaros (Sport DC/JCs), they are certified to a few standards, but I cant find anything more than a generic statement at the end of a catalogue... and a TUV cert which has them fitting into an E90 (not an E87, with different Recaro rails, as in my case). LVVC wont accept them for certification as stressed seats with the generic statement about all Recaro seats using Recaro rails comply (There is a webapp to match car/rails/seats, which aligns with what I have) Has anyone stumbled across anything? Have a contact? (Ive emailed Recaro without reply numerous times)... Im not far off calling Recaro Japans number and trying to remember my 4th form Japanese. if you plan on keeping it, and spannering yourself, bite the bullet and get Bimmergeeks Protools and an adapter... its pretty much mandatory if you DIY (Does all the NCS/ISTA etc stuff with less faff and in a solid Android GUI). I switched a mates F20 to NZ stations last week, took like a minute

Dropped it in at SB European on Monday, the owner was very friendly/knowledgeable and workshop was nice and clean.... pick it up tomorrow. Fingers crossed, but so far so good.

The fact there is enough of a market for someone to make this, let alone how insanely heinous it is, makes me worry about the future of the human race.
