Stupid trademe remind me thing didnt work!

Not particularly representative of the sound quality, but you get the idea. This is still all stock speakers, waiting on the inner door handles to be dropped off by courier before I pull the door cards and replace speakers.

The headunit in the screen shot above looks the same as mine, I just ordered another for the 330 too - https://www.belsee.com/ I suspect the fascia is made by another company and belsee strap their innards to the back of it. Ive had mine for a few years, works really well, has a few niggly annoying issues (like without a reversing camera the screen just blanks out in reverse) but otherwise theyre great. Can say 100% that amping the factory subs is definitely worth it. Whole thing just works better, unloaded the 50x4 from headunit and everything just goes louder and stays clearer. Can actually feel the subs working in the trim now

Thats really odd, I wonder if mine has tweeters in the pods or not! (I havent looked yet, just assumed) There are definitely E87s with base stereos and no pods. My money is on it has tweeters in there as the 330 sounds like a bag of dicks with its no tweeters (or pods). Some E87s got tweeters in the rear as well. There seems to be a bunch on confusion on whats what depending on region, as they all seem to vary. Mine had "professional" headunit factory.

I had a hunt through all the newtis.info wiring diagrams, and absolutely none of them match my car so multimeter and follow them under the carpets is the plan. It seems to be an odd config in the nz new ones, has subs and tweeters but no amp.. subs fronts tweeters are all driven from the front 2 channels... Im going to drive the 2 4 ohm subs in parallel from the 2ohm output of amp, so going to have to run another wire over the transmission tunnel as well. The 330 has the base audio system, and yeah.. it sucks

Little baby class D amp sits in there pretty good, tracing all the factory wiring to subs is a bit of a headscratcher... had to remove car to do it.

Im no conspiracy nut, but I'm starting to think there is way more to this than meets the eye. Big power shifts are happening. Vanuatu must be close to defaulting on their chinese loans due to covid ending tourism, which means china essentially own em, they already have clandestine presence in the pacific and this will just make it formal. If Taiwan gets invaded (sep/oct is apparently the best Wx), the chinese then have a clear run down through micronesia into the pacific..... /tinfoil hat off.

On police frustrations.. my house got broken on the last night of Lvl 4 lockdown, when were all at home. My wife, son, dog all asleep. This guy had balls. He ran through our house grabbing laptops and tablets. He also left his palm prints on my gate... the police forensics team turned up quick and did a really good job. They called us a week later with a name, asking if we knew him, we didnt... I found him on facebook, about as stereotypical as you'd expect from someone who does sh*t like this. I called the police 3 weeks ago, to see if it'd had been actioned. Nothing, no progress. They said they'd call me back as it shouldve been actioned. no call back. Its madness. I dont blame individual officers by the way, but the system is broken. This sack of sh*t will 100% be out there continuing what hes doing.

Well timed project of door card and stereo upgrade. Dont quite know where the amp is going to go yet, any advice? Its a small monoblock focal purely for the underseat subs. Debating installing it the factory position in the boot, close to the battery, and then running the RCAs back and forwards down the car, or moving the amp closer to the subs and having shorter RCAs and longer power leads? I may end up amping the original subs just to see what happens initially! The blaupunkt BM1402CM4 door speakers look like a quality bit of kit, particularly as the price is pretty sharp. No idea what they sound like, but the engineering is solid and the whole frame in CNCd etc. Nice.

Project My two still run mint, but one's at 280,000+km and I want to build up something to beat on with MILVs and headers etc, then rebuild the old one as a slow burn project once it's over 300k.

After a nice solid N52B30, something lowish km and looked after. Long block is all good. Preferably later built magnesium rocker and with cam ledge seal fix. Ideally manual sump too, but not a deal breaker. What's out there?

The tube that fits to gets really brittle, its pretty common for them to snap when ya mess with em. If it does snap it becomes a mare of the job as its pretty much totally CCV system replacement which is a job with bloody knuckles and swear words (at least on silver tops) Id let them do it, and they can deal with it if they break a line. Or just do it as part of the full CCV system refresh ya self, they all fail at somepoint anyway

Isnt it the heating element in the CCV system lines? They were shorting out and starting fires.

Bimmersport sticker lasted 5 years, fell off in last wash so got replaced. Just managed to snipe a set of mint lci door cards on tardme, so will swap em in with new blaupunkt speakers and subs, driven by a focal amp. Going to take some wiring to separate the factory sub wiring from the head unit.

Theyre realllly cheap, most go for 3 times that price.
