Has anyone replaced the aero piece in front of the rear wheels on an E87 Msport before? RealOEM is confusing me and ive bought the front ones instead of the back. I think it might be 13, but only LH is listed. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=UF92-EUR-11-2005-E87-BMW-130i&diagId=51_5532

13 Hours of cutting/polishing/removing compound from face and she is is shineyAF. Still has 224k of stone chips and scratches, but they are very shiney stone chips!

I have a Nilfisk 120.7 , its very average, not enuff puff but the filters in it help with rinsing off soap and avoided watermarks haha. 130 is apparently better.

Like watching a train crash in slow motion.

Simplicity is relative, in the 80s EFI was smoke and mirror magic, 125kw was immense etc etc Quality is the same, If anything the newer cars are better built, arguably less "solid" with things like open deck ali/magnesium blocks, but hardly unreliable. Take a look at items like suspension arms, and the newer BMW's are light years ahead of pressed steel etc in E30s 325i's. In terms of production numbers, they are similar when apples-apples. Dynamically, E30s are great fun, but im sure a 1M is more fun! Im not bagging E30s at all, but the "old skool" movement at the moment has put them on a pedestal... probably more than anything due to the 3 box 80s styling and RWD manual combo. A poverty pack E30 has crappy parts and average fit/finish, just like a poverty pack E90.
-
1M is already appreciating something crazy, will easily exceed even E30 M3's due to limited numbers.
-
E30s are cool cars, but damn... Would be better off investing in 80s BMWs than Auckland housing! I wonder if 130/135/335's etc pricing will do the same in 30 years.

Buy two. Ive put 70k on mine, 220k on clock, and I do 1000km a week. Still drives tight, suspension bushes a lil squeeky (soon to be fixed), still on the original clutch, engine might as well have 10k on it. All ive done is routine servicing. It has zero oil leaks, many stone chips 130s are the ducks nuts, easily the best car Ive ever owned as a daily toy.

Google aint helping me, after some of them fancy car wash buckets with the gaurd in bottom to keep mits out of the grit in the bottom

Anyone got an NZ source for angel eyes bulbs? (e87) Ive tried all the usual suspects but aint found anything - Ba9s socket, 12V 10W Philips 12082 (original) or Osram 6411 BMW apparently only list the whole bulb housing as a replacement

Looks awesome, id love another E30, but dammmn there is some sort of inflation happening My first car was a straight AE86, paid $700.. wofd and regd...

Latest Eagle F1s, as good as Assy 2s (in wet and dry) but with apparently longer tread life.
-
Ditch the runflats, get some Assy 3's, never look back. I found that much stagger resulted in epic understeer in the E87, could still overwhelm the rear when provoked, but the front let go much easier when loaded up in a corner. 135 has more power, but not that much more. I guess BMW do it for looks and "understeer safety" ? I run 225 front 235 rear and it feels pretty neutral

Silver E64 650i came flying past me on SH1 through Huntly this morning, he was enjoying the go pedal Member?

I tried ebay, but not ebay Aus! $80au shipping and same price as the US online crowds so $1200NZD all up. Done.

Cheers, Ill again to find some on Monday, otherwise will be in touch!

Dude here compares em directly, Ive used the Polish brand strongflex in the past, OK material but some of the design was just dumb.

Im collecting all the bits to refresh all the suspension in the E87, M3 LCA, Birds Dynamics kit, and poly bushes... The poly bushes are proving to be a prick to get hold of. Does anyone have a source for them in NZ? Super pro looks to make the best parts (KIT 191K is p/n) but having no luck sourcing some in NZ, none of the apparent NZ suppliers superpro list (through george stocks i assume) reply to emails or return phone calls, or even follow up requests for parts. Supercheap said nah cant do the kit have to order individual bushes (aint nobody got time for that) Few US online shops list em, price is good, but shipping is absurd money. Ill be in Aussie in a few months and am tempted to just bring some back in luggage! Anyone got a source in NZ?

Can anyone recommend me an Auckland Toyota mechanic to do a swag of work on an AE101 BZ Touring 6 speed? (Glenn you interested in pulling apart an old turd?) Someone with 4AGE BT experience would be awesome, she has a gremlin or two to chase. Needs clutch, Crank seal behind clutch (im assuming), rocker gasket is leaking around dizzy, vacuum leak solved (high idle and it isnt the ICV or any external load command AFAIK), VVT isnt engaging (cam gear is noisey, it could be that or the solenoid/ecu), and I think the o2 sensor is toast (rich as hell at mid rpm WOT, could be the missing cam advance though). If its the cam gear thats toast will be the cambelt as well. CEL is clean, but its OBD1 so not particularly clever. Bought it cheap as a 2nd car to throw some k's at and abuse (and put the dog in the back!), its straight and tidy but needs TLC before having another 100k thrown at the odo. No rush on the work as it is second car, but need to keep the costs down or its point of cheap reliable car is lost haha.

I live in Rewa, Only place the wife and I could afford (first) home. Its pretty funny sometimes, but in all honesty we have never had anything pinched/broken/tagged etc. Wifes car was broken into 3 times in central Auckland... Unfortunately the drop kicks are the most visible around these parts, but plenty of normal people around here too (and its increasing as the number of first home buyers get pushed south and the "winz renters" get pushed out). Got a house with a section big enough for the big dog (he may influence security..) and unobstructed views of the water out to the waitakeres, could never afford anything like it anywhere else in Auckland.

Suspension update for the 335i
Jacko replied to Herbmiester's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Very good deal I got the LCAs few days ago, wish bones seem to be taking longer to arrive. Other than the M being ground off they appear to legit and not "seconds" Sorry for the hijack -
I got myself banned from most of em :D, facebook is definitely killing the forums of old, mostly due to the forum software getting out of date really quick. Bimmersports one is pretty slick in comparison to many.

Clowns in euros (mostly x3's and e90 320s...) who drive in the RH lane bouncing between 80 and 130 with their rear fog lights on. Seriously... think they looking all trick with their extra illumination when in reality they just dont know what the buttons on the dash do.
