Come work on aircraft, 11/32 socket is used for probably 80% of aircraft fasteners (3/16 hilok collars).. and always the first socket to get pinched! One mans trash, anothers treasure

Thats some seriously wacky topgear camera angles.

Black E39 M5 (i think, just caught it) down highbrook drive, sounded tits with a few rpm wound up

I like that the best. They did a "major check" on the vehicle, but missed the beeping flashing warning light and text that says SERVICE on the dashboard? Dont hold up much hope for the stuff that doesnt beep and and flash...

Yup Manukau branch, I doubt they even have a obd2 doofa or they wouldve reset the service light on the golf, you can even do it through the gauge cluster by holding a few buttons.... Agreed, they shouldnt be advertising the can do stuff when they dont have the gear or knowledge to do it. Stick to doing HP chromies.... I left a message on their facebook page with a 1 star review... they will be in contact haha

Bought a discount card through work for mag and turbo, $100 for a bunch of stuff with free labour, few services, wheel alignments, puncture repairs etc. Thought cant really go wrong. Took the 130i in a few months ago, asked for .5 degrees more camber on the front, the rest as spec. Got it back from the tech, who looked to be 15 years old, who told me the camber isnt adjustable. Told him the strut towers are slotted, replied with "oh". Gave up and drove off, shaking head at the wobbly ass wheel alignment figures, some not in spec, and the 2nd wheel alignment sticker stuck next to the old one. Wrote it off as - "well, ya get what ya pay for" Wifes VW golf service indicator popped up last week, 72k, thought screw it will give M&T another go. Booked the car in for 1pm, she took our 2 month old down and was told come back at 3-3.30. She came back with son in the pram after strolling around the shops and the VW was only just going up on the hoist. By 5pm they had changed the oil and airfilter... Went to go drive it today, they havent even reset the fecken service indicator warning. I still have a bunch of stuff to check off my "discount card of free labour" but Id honestly rather just pay the money and take to someone who knows what they are doing. Pay peanuts, get Monkeys. /endrant

Anyone come across this before? Fault code logged - Communication error with LH mirror, thought it was erroneous, have just figured out its not though. Every once in a while the dip funtion when sticking car in reverse doesnt work. Im guessing its a wiring fault, dirty plug, or something. Wondering if anyone has any clues on where to start looking? Google isnt helping me, so im guessing its not common.

Yup some cool places to fly around there! If there wasnt an airstrip at the base of Milford, I wouldve gone for a tiki tour up the sound, it had just rained so squillions of waterfalls everywhere. Andy - Dreadzone remix, off their radio edits/cuts album from ages ago. Polley - Roughly 13min on a pack depending on how hard I push it, its setup to be pretty sporty at the expense of flight time, more fun doing flips and being able to play rocket ship. Slightly more on topic, also did some racing at CRC speedshow, was supposed to be racing against the cars, wouldve been awesome race against the evo, but it got canned unfortunately... based on our lap times pretty sure wouldve wooped em (probably why was canned haha )

Cheers, was pre Aug 1st so no property owners consent rules needed, I fly UAVs for a crust and do the testing for the cert, so all legit. The camera on the gimbal is just a gopro 3+ black, flight camera is a 800tvl Sony Effio-V

Did roughly 4000km around the south island with the wife at the end of last summer, 2 weeks driving around. Crappy diesel Holden cruise, but at least gas was cheap! Bought my toy, Discovery Pro FPV Quad, along for the ride, and flew it at pretty much every opportunity Lots of fun, seriously amazing countryside. Bit more of it here

Damnit, someone give me $100k to play with. Wasnt that engine the basis of the mclaren f1s powerplant?
-
Very nice, how did the handling change with so little weight now on the front wheels?
-
Cheers, interesting read. I wonder if turning the TC off by holding down the button is just making the diff appear more open. Some scientific testing is needed.
-
Hydraulic steering, Definitly turns the e diff off with the DTC button held down for a few seconds, seems like all that remains is ABS, behaves exactly like a very open diff Maybe the functionality varies between models?
-
Have I got this right ? (e87 130) No Push DTC button - Full stability control and traction control, "e diff" doing its thing. *yawn* Push DTC button, Full stability control, traction control wound down (??) Assuming it still controls diff through braking the spinning wheel? Hold DTC button, No stability control, no traction control, very open diff

I bet his mum tells him he looks like 50c.

You mean people accelerate to 100kmh before the end of the on ramps? NZ (South Auckland particularly) needs a new road sign that says : Get off ya Fn Phone and Hurry The F Up for the next 100km

Awesome cars, but definitely marketed at asshats... Some of the slides look a lil CGI
