  1. Was bored today. Did the Grand valley endurance race with an AW11 MR2. Couple of hours sitting on ass for $150k and a stink honda. Bitter Favourite cars are the Aw11, and the Caterham 7. Took lots of tweaking to get em right, probably why they rule Anyone else got the TVR speed 6? Something about its handling is broken, its really odd. Understeers like a dog and does some really quirky things.
  2. Is it just me or does one of them look like Steven tyler with a boob job....

    Quick Questions

Try check out the p/n on the side of the gearbox. Getrag 260's start with 260.xxxxx
  4. Wheels are 17x7.5 ET20 (Alpina reps) Old tyres were 215/45/17 Milanza HZ1's, New tyres are 215/40/17 Toyo T1R's. I used to scrape my exhaust going over the speed bumps in the work car park with the old 45 series tyres. With the new 40 series tyres I dont Which makes me think the profiles sizes are a bit wack. I do have some funky camber going on, 3 degrees rear, 2 degrees front. But all the other alignment specs were in the green on the techs computer. Planning on raising the car a touch to sort my rear camber out, and installing M3 offset CAB's, in the near future, but dont know how this will effect "the waddle"

    Electric fans

Work it out in terms of area, Find the biggest single fan you can fit, and the biggest twin fans you can fit and compare the areas ( Pi x r(^2) ) Go for max coverage of your radiator and you cant really go wrong. Single fan usually comes out on top. Stuff like blade design and rpm will effect the amount of air moved, but its still apples to apples if your using decent fans. The easiest way to wire em up, depending on amp draw, is a Davis Craig thermoswitch doofa. The switch is rated for 20A, so you can run most fans without a relay and its adjustable from like 40C-100C.
  6. ^ Yeah, but in saying that I cant be 100% without throwing the old tyres back on and trying it Anyone else experienced this "waddling" with T1R's?

  8. Found something weird my E30 does in fast corners, (motorway at 2am in the long sweeping banked corner out towards the airport) im not 100% on whats causing it. The best way to describe it is a "waddle", feels like the front is trying to tuck in, but then sorts it sh*t out and levels, and then starts it all over again. All the bushes are 95ksi polyurethane jobbies, all new ballinks rack ends etc etc etc. BC racing coilovers, Whiteline swaybars (adj rear in the centre hole). 3.64LSD. New Toyo T1R 215/17/40's I dont recall it doing it with my old tyres, which were 45 profile (but in reality were a lower profile than the toyo 40's) But I also dont recall pushing it through this corner before either. Ive adjusted up the front shocks a few clicks, thinking maybe the combined spring rates of the coilover and sway bar were too much for the lower setting to control. But the rain has stopped me from testing out my theory Also wondering if this is the T1R's, much talked about, soft sidewall showing up? Or do I have some funky dynamic alignment change going on....
  9. *SCHNITZER RUNNING GEAR .... Mmmmmk.
  10. If batman drove a BMW, it'd probably look like this.
  11. I normally just borrow loctite from work, but dont seem to keep these flavours in stock. Can anyone point me at a supplier that'll stock em?, either 680 or 638 should do the trick.
  12. Probably not for the squeemish, or religious, or dog lover, But this is some crazy stuff and you can see how its been developed, at a probably lesser, not quite so Macabre, level in todays life-support etc.
  13. Not following ya on how the idle made it stutter?
  14. Save yourself the hassle of doing it twice and do it all now
  15. Ultra racing strut brace fixed, thanks go to the 1" drum sander on the die grinder, the steel is very soft so it doesnt take long. Two "channels" into each fitting to clear the strut tower lumps. The fitting is near paper thin in places, but screw it, it fits how it should do The factory white paint wipes offs with acetone (I discovered..) so it got stripped and painted. Seriously dont think this thing is gonna do jack sh*t for handling, its way to soft a grade steel and is a piss poor structural design.. But it looks cool
  16. Cheers for the replies, after a bit of a sh*t fight with the original mechanics he has the car back, still not running right but got a few ideas into what to have a play with. Gonna get some of that Proma MBL8 just to stop the laughs in the carpark too Anyone recommend a good mitzy wrecker that wont mind us playing "swap the part" troubleshooting? (Auckland preferably)
  17. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/news/article....jectid=10709408 Sounds remarkably like the wastes of oxygen that live over the road from me. Called the cops, even if its not them I suspect they'll find something worth locking them up for!
