Black E63 645ci, some sorta tough sounding exhaust, stalling in Helensville Saw it again in the arvo tailing an M3 on the north western motorway. And a two tone black and white E32 in kumeu, with an iron cross instead of the BMW badge on the boot. Members?

^ Good info man cheers, I had assumed that polyurethane had a higher temperature tolerance than rubber, hadnt looked into it though. Ive got around 5mm clearance between the headers and heat shield on the coupler, shes pretty tight. Replaced it this morning with a lemforder rubber one, Im gonna use BM workshop parts again, found them awesome to deal with. Parts guy on the phone knew exactly what I was talking about, had everything including the bolts and bush in stock, couriered it out ASAP, and the price was good too. Called another place, cant even remember their name (ladies mile?). Took 2 hours for them to call me back and say they didnt do parts for cars as old as mine.... I think Ill replace it with a solid one in the future, I dunno how long the rubber is gonna last.

Ouch, bent speedster. Funny what you say about paint Bellicose, when I got touch up cans for my car, the dude on the phone went "oooooo thats gonna be pricey, BMW use lots of tints, $50 a can" I told him the paint code Schwarz Black. He went tap tap tap on his computer and comes back with "Ohh... Thats just straight black, $20"

BM Workshop Parts department to the rescue! Legends. Rekon a solid coupling is too harsh for the road? It might be an option for the future, as my headers wrap right around the coupling and likely caused the rubber one to fail. Be handy, if its not too harsh, as can likely get a 2024T3 one CNC'd up for a pack of timtams Thanks for the help, tempted to cancel my I.E order.

^ That sucks balls. Time to call BMW parts department

DO you still have these available? Ive ordered one from IE, but I need one now! Happy to buy/borrow/swap Etc.
-
Steering coupler just fell to peices today, noticed it was on its last legs during the swap, but its gone down hill rapidly with the headers wrapped around it.... How long do IE usually take to ship???? Murphy is an evil f**ker

^ Decided to get the diegrinder on to it, pics to come when its tidied up Im much liking the way the E30 handles off the motorway at the moment, it feels sweet around the twisty bits, but im over the twitchyness on the motorway, and at speed with roads with funky/deep cambered edges. She doesnt like straight lines, constantly having to correct it as it either wants to tramline into ditches, or generally feel not very reassuring. Porbably quite fun as a drift car, not so great as a daily driver... Im thinking ive caused it with the 90sha bushes tightening the rear end up, and all the new balljoints in the front end, Added with the extra front camber might have actually reduced my front end caster. Im not 100% on this, shouldve got a wheel alignment when it was stock as a baseline. Done a bit of research, and come up with a plan. Gonna crank up the front ends camber from 2 too 2.5~3 degrees, raise the car 10mm all round which should see 2-2.5 degrees camber at the back end. Currently have 3 degrees at the rear and 2 at the front... Ordered some M3 offset CAB's (and that polyurenthane steering coupler) from ireland engineering, too try and increase the caster as much as possible Anyone with some experience on E30 suspension tweaking think im on the right track? Or should I be looking at caster adjustable tophats etc?

Cheap Taiwanese suspension? And you rate it highly? Keep that quiet or youll upset the fanbois

^ +1 along with the dude spreading the fake charity donation emails. Seriously disgusting wankers. What is cool though is apparently they have over flowing supplies of water/food and blood, people are getting turned away from the blood banks.

Sweet, Ill keep an eye out. My wipers suck. Are you running M3 offset control arm bushings now? Whatya rekon compared to the stock bushes?, where you using the BC's before swapping the bushes? Im considering installing some in mine, hopefully to improve some of the "dartiness" at speed with some more caster, scared myself during the 5am commute to work this morning...
