some of the early e21 323i and e30 323i had the close ratio box with the seperate bellhousing. but they are all rare and old now and have crappy shifter systems etc better to go with a e36 box , easier to find and replace etc either the Getrag or ZF will do. maybe even the 6spd ZF units from the 3.2l m3 or 330i and newer e46 plus models etc or just get more power to over come your problem

lossen the colar with a big spanner then slide apart .best not to pull them apart as they are balanced

any model 316i 318i 318is 318ti 316ti 320i 323i 325i all use a getrag 220 box 328i and 3L m3 use a zf box though , but they will also fit onto a m20 engine why do you need a box like this , is it for racing etc??

have had new batterys fail before .get yourself a meter and measure the amps if draws when sitting there and then slowly remove one fuse at a time to see which one makes a difference, also the door locking solinoids and door locking control modules fail in these cars . do all the central locks work ??

YES CHECK BATTERY AGE , also check what current drain when the thing is just sitting there . check the glove box light is not one (broken switch etc)

ok , head is gone now , still have the block with crank rods and pistons etc . best way to power out of your M50 m52 or m20 engine block .

glove box light ?? you need to hook up a amp meter between battery and positive cable check what currant draw is at then start removing fuses one at time to see which one makes it frop off .

yes quite a rare cluster . only used in the late model 520i 525i excutives 1994 onwards etc . its more like a e36 cluster inside . yes millage is stored in the cluster . yes shane should be able to sort it for you. but if you have no luck i should be able to get you one

ok . anyway you should have a plug from under the carpet going into that little box .

only the pass seat matters , the little box should go to the twisted yellow wires?? hard to see in the picture . thats the passenger seat sensor. you will also need to reset the air bag light with a scanner tool after you have done it.

i would like to lower it a little later on , but want to do it properly with new shocks etc. its got a M62b44 4.4L non vanos engine from a 96 540i , modified to run on the orginal 4L m60 loom and ecu. remapped etc goes very well

just got it back from the painter . repainted the bonnet , new boot lid , , change the bumper to the 540i type . painted out the chrome trims etc. fitted the MK motorsport alloys and new tyres . project link here http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....15&start=15
