  4. no looks like in the pic its a m20 box , beacuse it has 140mm between top 2 bolt holes , m30 and m10 have 120mm
  5. unplug the loom from the car etc , .remove with gearbox . thats it . about 2hrs to remove and about 4-8hrs to hook all back together

  13. no it wont , unless you modify it to bits . top bolts 120mm apart on the m30,M10 and 140mm on the m20,m40,m50 etc

  16. very hard to get the kit to convert . but you can use old M30 box ,, and have driveshft modifed , buy pedals from 520i manual etc .. i know of a place to do the job if its a bolt up kit . about $500-700
  17. no its a 5spd manual . over drive box , dyno results measured in 4th gear 1:1 ... where did you get your dyno figures from . this was at Hi Velocity nth shore , rolling road type . andrew was saying S50 M3 e36 where just a bit more , and they are rated at 286Hp as well . feels a lot more punchier now , and its quite quick off the line , when i can get traction (darn rain all the time). should be a lot better with shorter dif , thats next week . torque and power curves matched the spec in the owners manual , (if thats any thing to go by), but higher readings taken at the flywheel . torque was spot on 345Nm as the book says . cheers
  18. was a bit lean at first , managed to get about another 15Kw. buy the time we finished playing with the AFM and the FQS on the ECU . feels alot better now , more responsive . maybe down a bit on factory rating , surpose to be 290HP or 210Kw at the flywheel , i am still running the 3.07 LSD diff , which i want to change to 3.45 or 3.64 etc . should gain a few horses at the wheel . also fitted my new number plate.

  20. just std overdrive box getrag 260/6 .about a 0.8 or so . with a 3.07 diff .. this engine doesn't have as much torque down low in the revs as the std M30 3.5 engine had . so a bit laboursome around 2000rpm . torque/power exceeds std engine at about 4000rpm . where the old engine just pulled strong in th elow revs . so at 50km/h 3rd gear less than 2krpm . 100km/h 5th gear less than 2krpm . needs to be about 2500rpm in those gears at that speed I think.
  21. yes first real drive , just got it back from the petes muffler shop . yes goes pretty good , just need to get it tunned proper and sort the diff out
  22. guys said nothing about the engine or the modified engine mount , only mention was an exhaust clamp sitting a bit low underneth . the fact is the car is real low in the front ( stupid jamex springs) going to have to change that soon , dont like the ride . car runs great m not easy to drive in trafic to work . heavy clutch which shudders a bit if you tak eoff to slow , heavy throttle spring ,and the diff gearing is to tall for this engine . 3.07LSD , so will change it to something like 3.46 or 3.64 etc .. taking to hi-velocity on monday for a bit od dyno tunning etc . maybe get some spacers for the front springs as well
  23. try auto clutch in morningside , they just make them to what ever spec you want . just got one for my m5 engine , carbon /kevlar clutch disc with uprated pressure plate etc .
  24. yep hurry up . buy that red e34 535i thtat needs an top end , then you can buy my mint motor i have . or just buy the black M5 on trade me for $25k then throw lots of $$$$$ at it
