Heres the engine: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=222771318 And a few things im getting from VAC to make the job a little easier: Wiring Loom: https://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...rs&All=True Brake Booster: https://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...rs&All=True Oil Filter Lid: https://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...rs&All=True Clutch and Flywheel Package: https://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...motors&All= Pulleys: https://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...motors&All= Oil Pump Upgrade kit: https://store.nexternal.com/shared/StoreFro...motors&All= Iv read up a bit on the various transmissions and im going with the ZF. If you use the 96-98 328i drive shaft and use some part from the e30 drive shaft apparently that works, but il jump that hurdle when i come to it.

m52 it is!!! Got me a nice engine thats done only a few kms. What a need now is; Manual transmission from a 96-98 e36 328i Drive Shaft from 96-98 e36 328i or e30 m3 Oil Sump from e34 525i (m50 oil sump) e36 engine mount arms e21 brake booster and a z3 or e36 powersteering rack If anyone has these parts id be glad to take them off your hands. Il give Ray a call tomorrow. Anything im missing?

Yeah im thinking of adding an itb intake (whether s50 or dbilas, im nt sure) and a decent exhaust system and leaving it at that. Who would do a conversion like this in auckland? I think iv sourced the engine.
-
^ What he said
-
Why haven't you removed the stock intake scoop?
-
Well im going to have to rebuild anyway because its burning a substntial amount of oil now, so i thought why not upgrade at the same time. In terms of tune-ability, are there gains to be had off a stock m52b28 double vanos?
-
Okay, basically theres a sh*t load of people telling me to do different things to achieve 2.8 in my m20 and im going crazy. 1. I dont know much about the vanos system at all, so i need some explaining done. 2. Alloy block m52? - bad?good? what are my limitations? 3. I really want an s52 but cant find one, so if anyone can point me in the direction of someone willing to part with it that would be great. edit: sorry meant s50, european m3 engine

Im contemplating using a low kms b20 block for my engine build, what are the differences between the b20 and the b25 block? I know the bore on the b20 is 80mm, and the b25 is 84. Atm im thinking of boring either a b25 or b20 to 85mm and using a set of vac's custom pistons, adding some high performance head gear (vac tier 3 performance head) + mls gasket and arp studs (just for peace of mind) + port matched itb intake. Anyone got any useful info on this setup? And is there anything else i should be looking into? edit: forgot to mention using a m52 crankshaft and b25 rods

Whats "cooler" or better looking in you opinion?

I think tech1's look good in two door, and tech2's in 4 door. -
Fuuuuuuuuuuck that sucks serious donkey d*ck. I hate threads like this. Theres always a silver lining though, seems an upgrade may become reality sooner than you thought. Good luck mate

Thanks for that Brent. Damn Autobid.

Your best bang for buck, in terms of air filters, would be to get a cda fibre filter and run some custom piping to the original duct behind the left high beam. You can get these from Woolfe Mufflers and they're on a huge discount there atm.
-
Shaved aerial? Looks nice and clean
-
You should really buy a set of black centered bbs rs 16". Much like Kel's set

Managed to catch your manager last night at slinky playing a few tunes off your new album, sounded f**king wicked, cant wait for the release gig.

Had a good chat to john, and hes written a letter, stamped and signed, stating that he, as a llv certifier, can find no fault in the car especially ride height, and that no offense was committed. Going to attach it to a letter to the correspondence office, and request they remove the infringement notice. Failing that i'll get a court date. Should i attach a picture?
-
Yeah i figured too, but the popo were so sure that they were right it was infuriating.

I just rang John from John Brett Technology and he said to come over and he'll have a look. By the sound of it its complete and utter bullshit. Hes going to write a letter as a LVV certifier and state that the car is NOT too low. I know people are against ftp posts, but jesus they're getting slack if they dont know the rules they're enforcing.
