So i drove through a drink driving stop last night, and passed again (as i do not drink and drive), and wouldn't you know it i get pulled to the side AGAIN "just a random check sir", bullshit. Anyway after giving my car a thorough inspection because there HAS to be something up if a white bmw is driving through newmarket on a friday night, they finally decide to fine me for "operating a modified vehicle that was not certified", and they also failed again to notice my illegal plates. Basically the distance between centre of the rear hub and rear wheel arch is too small. Good on the police for finding fault. Kinda sucks because i had no idea that my ride height/springs were illegal, since i bought it that way and the car received a warrant of fitness with those same springs installed. Anyone know of a low volume certifier in the central auckland region? I figure if i get it cert'd today and send a letter to the police, then maybe, just maybe, there might be someone reasonable enough to understand the reality of the situation.

Get a flat head screw driver and push it into the lock, now hit the screw driver 3 or 4 times and the boot should just pop open. Worked for me

Im keeping the twin pipes, just wondering if the rear muffler restricts air flow at all, as i like the sound atm. Will running twin resonators, instead of the standard centre, make it sound any louder?

My exhaust droops a bit since i got the headers welded to the stock centre, and im also looking to replace the centre muffler and rear, but i dont really want a loud exhaust. I was thinking of replacing the centre with 2 resonators, but im nt sure what to do with the rear muffler. I want the performance but not the noise, although a nice rumble would be good. Any info would be appreciated.

Bunch of "whatever we call them" tried to jack me an my mate Anton in the subaru one time. I think they were attracted by the non-negro music playing from my piece of sh*t stereo. We were stopped at a stop sign in epsom. The first one approached the passenger side and said "nice sounds g", and tried to open the passenger door. He then grabbed my mate by the neck and tried to punch him but i floored it. Anton grabbed his arm and we dragged him like 50m with his buddy chasing behind the car. I slammed on the brakes and he ran full tilt into the back of the subey and Anton let go of his arm and we drove off calmly. I think the best thing i have ever done to protect myself is never f**k people off in your own neighbourhood, and never register your car to your home address. Edit: oh and always lock your doors

Im not looking for a ridiculously fast e30. Id like the retain the m20 as i think an e30 is more valuable if it retains its stock look, which is what im trying to do. I have thought of selling up and buying an m3 (e30), but until i have a spare 30ish k in my wallet i wont be doing this. To sam, yes please. Think about my offer.

Thanks Pjay. Not the best people mover ae, but at least it doesnt rub now that iv had the guards rolled. Was carpooling people to the diversions office, much like the cervical screening ad EDIT: Fcuk that last m3 is nice PS: on the note of seeing people; anyone know the owner of a black mtech e30 with gold rims? or also a red e34 msport with biggass bmw rims in the royal oak area? I keep seeing them all the time, and its getting stupid how many times we've nodded to each other now.

With my engine oil leak, and leaky gearbox i think its time to get a rebuild. Im not looking to go the forced induction way so stroking the motor is what i want to do. I know there are the ireland engineering 3.1L kits, but they cost an arm and a leg. What are the fundamentals of stroking to 3.1 and is there a nz backyard way of doing it? Also whos good to rebuild m20s, im in auckland. If anyone has any links to forums where this has been done before, that would be great as i want some idea of what to expect, as ive had mixed reviews from several different people.

With just the headers fitted and no tune there was no real power before 3000 and after 5500. Now with the tune the throttle response is amazingly sensitive and theres more power throughout the rev range.

So i got my car back yesterday from APT. Had the afm taken out and replaced with a straight aluminum pipe, and tuned on the dyno. To get a map-ecu2 computer installed and tuned, APT quoted me around $1350. I got some quite good gains on my m20 but only because im running aftermarket headers and i removed the afm. Heres the dyno sheet with before and after (bear in mind the before is WITH the headers installed). Next thing on my list is installing the launch control function. Will post up a picture of the welded pipe after i clean it up and paint it.
