  1. The Senna movie is hard to follow only because of the language barrier. He's just a legend, one of the greats. I could go on all day & night.

    Decent X5 Pics

Just been over this tread again to checkout the pics - low & behold there's a post left un-answered. To date, it's the best car I've owned I think, even being the 3rd X5 I've had. The ML I have at the moment is definitely smoother and better on a decent long trip, but say I was to take two mates up to Queenstown, the X5 is definitely the car I would take.
  3. Probably quite a good post to raise seeing TV's in Beema's have been around since the late 90's as an option. I imagine that most of them won't be able to function in about two years time?
  4. I remember when my old man got free private healthcare with his jobs for him and the family, this is a thing of the past. I wonder how much BMW USA is actually tied to Germany? I know it's not a franchise but it's not 100% the same company either??? Bags not buying any X series BMW's if they are to employ un-skilled workers.
  5. That red M is up there with the Alpina almost, if I had a spare 20!!!
  6. If anyone had watched the last Fifth gear episode, it had the 1M and the E-Type on it, a bit of Deja Vu! IMO the 1M sits tough, It looks great & although I think the 1 series is more designed at the junkless portion of our society, this 1M would happily sit in my garage - yes, I'd actually have that over a 123d
  7. In heavy traffic speeding is even less profitable. Arsehats doing 90 in a fastlane should be punishable by firing squad/stoning/hanging
  8. Excellent - will continue to use this method!
  9. Bahahahaha - thanks for bringing this LOL to our day. That rig under acceleration seems to make alot of noise but no real difference to it's speed. It's how it should be done.
  10. I've noticed the same, like an old Isuzu Bighorn some of them! Our little Kia is sunset orange, the concept sounds hideous but we really liked the colour after seeing it!
  11. One thing I do at night especially is turn on the rear FOG lights, this seems to work on most occasions for me. The ML and Astra I drive has unbelievably annoyingly bright rear fog lamps. Some idiots may actually think they are brake lights?
  12. Bang for buck the BT-50 is still the best and that's something you have to hold to ransom over the Navara which I'm told are starting to have serious engine issues - no doubt due to the fact they are squeezing 450nm out of a 2.5 diesel - an engine which should be designed to do high mileage given the nature of it's intended application. I've seen top model Ranger's for sale for just under 40k + ORC - there was a nice red one at Timaru motors a few months ago when I was on my way past - they are a great looking ute. The new Ford Ranger IMO is going to blow everything out of the water. Has anyone seen it? What I found was lacking in the NZ ranges of utes is engine size and Ford are now doing a 5 pot 147kw 470nm engine. New Ranger This ute is expected to be alot more expensive than the current model, but this is going to have ESP, Navigation, and all the bits you'd expect in a car. I really like it, especially the looks!

    Pulsar EXA

Is that an offer Westy haha

    Pulsar EXA

Haha, you couldn't mention an MR2 and an EXA in the same sentence, they were like BMW's to me the MR2's in those days!

    Pulsar EXA

Bahahaha. That's probably half the reason I want one. The sh*t I used to get up to in mine was brilliant. On a Saturday/Friday night I'm sure it ran the whole weekend without stopping.

    Pulsar EXA

Yes love em or hate em I've been looking for one for the past few years and no luck. My first car was an '83 manual in white and it was absoluteley immaculate. If anyone knows of a good one for sale give me a yell as there are none for sale online that I can find.
  19. looks tough i hope you get more than 20 for it as theres no way in hell id sell it for 20 after all the coin youve spent on it!!!!
  20. Quite interesting really. I notice Audi is up there aswell, but IMO the difference between an Audi engine and a BMW engine is simply reliability.

    Free Beer

Most of the stuff I already knew apart from who started brewing in NZ, multiple choice options were : Captain Cook - Sir Edmund Hillary - Colin Meads ROFL! I think Colin Meads was just a consumer, not a manufacturer!
  22. How come there's nothing Japanese or American in there?? Haha! No surprise the M57 diesel took the podium again.
  23. I'm not too sure on it, the first one looks quite industrial looking at the rear, but then again, IMO it's time for Aston to move on to a more modern shape. Their current basic shape has been around for yonks!
  24. I've offered these guys 35k with a towbar on that. IMO it's a bit overpriced with that mileage - he wouldn't budge on that price, great looking car though.
