    Ayrton Senna

17 Years today, I remember where I was when I heard the news. R.I.P to one of the greatest drivers ever. One of the best tributes to him has to be the Top Gear feature created on him a few years back. YouTube part 1 YouTube part 2

    Bad taste?

Looks awesome mate, how much for a fridge with a Swazi on the doors?
  3. 35i ? Can you atleast negotiate a X6 M or a x40d ?
  4. Nah. Have a work car so I'm not using the Benz so I want a cheaper car so I can afford to have it thirsty!
  5. Young Jack, is that 4.6is still for sale?
  6. Ha, but if someone had them in there without the new owner knowing about them then?
  7. I've been told by some people that they are illegal and then by some that they aren't then by some that it's a grey area. My car "may" have them installed from the previous owner and there could be a switch below to activate a little LED on the pillar. Any ideas?
  8. He will need an endorsement and a COF on that car as it's classed as "For hire or reward" But what a way to get around! Not sure $60 an hour would be enough to run it and make money?
  9. That argument even with diesels is almost getting to the stage where can you change gears fast enough? If it was my option? The Auto every time.
  10. Mike is in Queensland at the moment, but I'm sure he can't stay away from anything with an internet connection.
  11. This just in from the BBC, NBC and WTF news groups "Militant Gorilla Rebel group Bimmersport.co.nz has officially claimed responsibility for the death threats via email on Teen sensation or failsation Rebecca Black. Anaheim, California Police reports in a press conference held yesterday. The Police station went on to add that they would be donating any BMW of their choice to all members of the group in thanks if the threats were completed. Tasman Police District Commander Superintendent Gary Knowles commented that the threat was totally out of character for the prestigious BMW owners guild yet he fully supported any such actions & would not be pressing any charges"
  12. I'm personally not too bothered that they've done this as it was always on the cards, I'm more bothered that they just rushed it through parliament without any public consultation. If I was to download "hypothetically" I'd only download TV from the U.K Usenet providers such as Easynews are secure connections so there's no chance any author of material can see what's being downloaded to your machine at any rate.
  13. Nice. Awesome 0-100 time considering it's size.
  14. Hmmm, I was told the 3.0d was arriving soon after the release of the 2.0d, they list it on the BMW site now so just thought they were available. On the extremely slow & impossible to navigate BMW.co.nz they list a 2.0d 3.0d and a straight 6 petrol.
  15. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-349027953.htm I drove this one from Dunedin, great engines in them, but I also drove the 330d the same day and those things are just animals. I'd love a 330d touring.
  16. They have come a long way in the looks department for sho. What engine does it have? The new 2.0d pulls like a train. Unbraked should be about 750kg ish the X5 was 750 unbraked and 2700kg braked, ML is 3500braked 750 unbraked but with DSC and trailer stability management on them now it's hard to make them jack knife.
  17. Hey Graham, you'd be looking at $1595 + freight from me on that bad boy.
  18. Good man. There's a select few out there that expect their $600 dollar laptops to last 37 years and to have comparable performance to any NASA based computer designed to run SkyNet AND have the build qualities of a Panasonic Toughbook! That model you've quoted doesn't appear to exist???
  19. You seem to be getting wiser in your old age. Probably a fair comment I'd have to say. I guess it's like certain cars, people have a good run out of them. My post was just made up not of what I've had (had very few laptops) but what I've had to repair all the time at work.
  20. This may be the case but if you go on a per basis i.e there's far more HP around than Sony (well down here anyway) Sony are very hard to get parts for also. I'm coming from a repair basis also. We used to do all repairs for Noel Leeming & Bond & Bond Dunedin/Oamaru up until 2 years ago. So we got to see what was reliable & what wasn't YES they sell more HP/Compaq more than Sony but if you talk to outfits like Dove or The Laptop Company they would all agree on my list that I made just going on failure rates. We do retail but mainly repairs & warranty manufacturers work. The Laptop company would have to be the biggest independent NZ owned laptop specialist in the South Island for laptop sales. They don't sell Sony, they are HP, Toshi and IBM Lenovo. No other brand really does CHEAP CHEAP laptops so my advice on cheap laptops would have to stick with out of Acer and Compaq, Toshiba would still be my choice - this is for the $600-$800 range. I'm not saying I'm 100% correct on any of this but I'm just going on my experience Sorry if this has made no sense, I'm high on oil based paint fumes!
  21. I'm not too sure how people get this amazing vision that Apple is more reliable as HDD, RAM & panels are the biggest failure items in any machine and they are all the same brands used both in PC and Mac. My 3 biggest brands: Asus Toshiba HP Cheap HP's are crap, Elitebook HP's IMO are the best, if you are going cheap, then I'd suggest Toshiba, and then Asus. If you find something PM me and I will see if I can price it for you. Also, where possible stay away from any machine that comes with an AMD CPU & chipset. IMO stay away from : Acer NEC/Packard Bell Sony - although some of them do look cool
  22. It would appear that the car has now been reduced 200k - suddenly it seems all that more affordable. Imagine that, reducing your car by 200k!
  23. Under intercourse in the dictionary there's a photo of an Aston. Very nice. What trans did he go for out of curiosity?
  24. The Allroads are nice but from what I've heard you'll need a warranty with a decent claim limit. What specs does it have? Obviously NZ New?
  25. Some of those music video's aren't bad IF you have the sound disabled.
