  1. Lucky for me I have to have my brakes done, quoted $2700 for this from Mercedes all up, it also just about needs a B service also in 1800km so I'm going to get this done all at once which is about $750-$800 - I've been quoted about $1500 for the brakes from European Car services in Dunedin and about $350 for the service from them - does anyone know much about them if they've used them before e.t.c. I've always been a fan of dealership servicing (even though I've had a reasonably bad run with these guys down here Merc wise) What are the main benefits (bar the cheesy service & extra zero's on the bill) of going dealership servicing over going external? He advised some of the parts aren't genuine but said he'd fitted many of them before without hassle/issues.
  2. My idea of a bullet proof car would be to stop bullets from getting in, if they wanted performance then why didn't they convert a Ferrari? Anyway, in 1991 that car would have had reasonable performance even given that it weighs more.
  3. That is so much car for the money, and so much looks for the money too, other wheels couldn't suit it better than the ones on it, damn it sits nice.
  4. Brokers win mate, I doubt you'd get the same treatment if you went directly to them. Whenever I have an issue, I just ring my broker and he sorts it straight away.
  5. I'd say the 2.8 would be a different beast altogether, I'm just wondering why they took a picture of it next to a double decker bus?
  6. My grandfather has one identical bar red. If you want performance I'd suggest you take the bus IMO. Great if you want a daily or something to pot around in but for a weekend thrash toy - nup.
  7. Tidy much? Anyone know anything more about this "Heritage Range" they have?
  8. You can't have been that far off Greg, paying circa 25k for a car that's worth 30-35k tops that requires about 5k worth of tyres, brakes, e.t.c. isn't that far away IMO. Car looks great in the flesh, black wheels need to burn though, it f**ks the whole car!
  9. The head says a 335d but then again, I'd get to work quicker in a 1M - you forgot an option for both?
  10. The failguide needs to differentiate between unmaintained Singapore & Japanese imports & well maintained NZ New examples which have kms that most of which aren't sitting in traffic. Jap/Singapore imports should have hour meters as well lol!
  11. Pretty impressive, had a laugh when he hit the wall at the start.
  12. Word - why else would it be 330i money!
  13. ^^^^ yeah not a favourable statement...
  14. Yup, had over 100k spent fixing it, it was 250 odd new, and worth about 200 when it rolled, no one in NZ could fix it, they had to fly a small team over from Deutschland to do the repairs - they used all genuine parts and you honestly wouldn't know it. Ofcourse, I only found out about it AFTER I'd sold it!
  15. I imagine that is an exception whereas the GG's car is always in NZ i.e if Obama came over to NZ, they carry all his cars in a C-17 Globemaster which I'm sure the NZ govt wouldn't make them get complied - lol Obama getting pulled over for no reg/wof/plates and no cert for the overweight car with mods haha!
  16. It's been on there for a couple of years now and they wanted alot more for it back then. It's really a niche thing and can't imagine that there's alot of people around A with the money and B with the balls to part with that much for a toy.
  17. Not a fan of people purchasing and then not following through or even getting in contact. It's up to you to go and look at the car before bidding. If someone bought something of mine, turned up and asked to take it for a mechanical inspection (even though I thought it was 100%), my response wouldn't be a good one. I'd be happy for them to do so before they bid/purchased but not after the auction has closed.
  18. It would be a big sh*t sandwich if it didn't. Seemed a little too good to be true.
  19. Is it just me or does that look just like a 5 series?
  20. You bastard! Client of mine has one of these, the thing sounds like a dragster starting up, it's epic!
  21. What did you do with all your spare time Glenn? I imagine it takes about two minutes per ciggie? 2x50 per day... Say about 10-11 hours a week?
  22. Holy sh*t Glenn, $1000 per month?? FARK! Should buy yourself a car!
