  1. Give me your full chassis number, PM me, and i'll check out the BMW recall campains, and known issues with the tranny in your car. It may be a known problem, with a bmw freebie fix..... who knows at this stage.
  2. You kinda answered your own question here. The starter is to 'deep', hence you spacing it out helps. I'm not familiar with your car, but: 1. Flex plate is back to front and or ring gear back to front ie: leading edge facing wrong way 2. Wrong starter fitted ( have you replaced it yourself, new one ? ) 3. Should there be a factory spacer? [Edit] Spelling & check local library for a manual or ETK online or borrow a manual.
  3. After researching my 'when cold first and second gears drag out' syndrome, I came to the conclusion that it's there to stop a driver from rooting the tranny and or engine when COLD. Even the BMW manual states that the tranny will hold onto first, second gear longer than normal when cold. As for the jerking into gear -- thats different. Just try and let the tranny do its thing when cold, and it should pass when warm. Mine is smooth as when warm, can hardly feel a change in gear all the way through to top. Cold 1st does drag out somewhat. It's a electronic whatsitmagig I have been told by several BMW places, and tranny savvy people. I wouldn't worry about it at this stage, however, if these symptoms persit or get worse HOT, you may have to start thinking about the state of the tranny.

    Aluminium Welding

Muzzas water pumps in Neilson St, Penrose reco's water pumps. If you need it stripped, hes damn good, fast turnaround and great price. Welding wise -- any good fabricator equipped with the gear will be ok. I use URGENT ENGINEERING in ET for all my engineering work - Frank there IS THE MAN.
  5. ALWAYS shave the head when it's off. Unless it's a cast iron one, then 9 out of 10 times its ok. Alloy heads need a shave once off. Its the only way to be 100% sure the job is done properly. It should only cost ~60 bucks for a six cylinder. Most gasket jobs that come through my shop are four cylinders and are 45 bucks a skim ( my price ).
  6. Awesum car. Quality, grunt, comfort and all the buttons and comforts you could ask for.

    Myth Busters

Saw that episode last week. Quite enjoyed the trauma they infilcted onto that olds mobile. And the V8 sounded so much better with the moth balls in the fuel. Almost like it was on av gas. These guys do the funniest and crasiest stuff - it's a good watch allright.
  8. That engine is just oozing sex. Those headders, why not get clones made from them? Onya man - look forward to more posts!

    Karma Vote

Personally - get rid of post count and replace with 'date of subscription'. I don't think there is a need for a 'community' delete/ban thingee. Post counts don't mean sh*t. Three mods/admins is proberly all it takes. One head poncho - two support twig wackers. Jesus, this ain't telecom, and I mean this with greatest respect to BS. Far too many chiefs, not enough indians basically... If I was made a mod, first thing I would do would be to take sics stick off him, and insert it :finger: No really - just call it community service :jap:
  10. Twelve priests were about to be ordained. The final test was for them to line up in a straight row, totally nude, in a garden while a sexy, beautiful, big breasted, nude model danced before them. Each priest had a small bell attached to his weenie & they were told that anyone whose bell rang when she danced in front of them would not be ordained because he had not reached a state of spiritual purity. The beautiful model danced before the first candidate, with no reaction. She proceeded down the line with the same response from all the priests until she got to the final priest, Carlos. Poor Carlos. As she danced, his bell rang so loudly it flew off, clattering across the ground & laid to rest in nearby foliage. Embarrassed, Carlos quickly scrambled to where the bell came to rest & bent over to pick it up. Then all the other bells started to ring....
  11. Mate - nice car. I think the 36 is a bloody sexy design. Loose the gay spoiler ( 36'ers don't suit ANY rear spoiler ), and those mags needs a'changin!! Good score - photochop your car and see what you like best, thats whats counts!
  12. You have plastered your nos and other sh*t around here enough to let the whole world know who you are... Dohwhat was that number....??? (edited, find my new flyer if you want to advertise for me .. badass )
  13. I personally think you did a uncool thing. I only hope you didn't have anyone else in your car at the time Myself - I would of just rang *555 or taken his plate number and made a report out at the police station. They do follow up on dangerous driving matters. Being smarter/more in control of myself than other retards out there is what makes me feel 'one up' I'm not dishing ya at all - IMHO is where it's at.
  14. I would get new bolts - even if you don't use them in the end. Murphys law, one will be rooted, or rooted getting it out.
  15. I'm in for a copy - PM me for setails :bounce:

    My 320i

Hey that lowering job is mint - perfect ride height / tyre combo!
  17. Hard to tell from a pic, but the gasket looks shitty. Grab a can of brake clean or engine start and squirt the gasket with the motor running. If the idle changes, you have a leak. Just make sure it not a hose clamp near by thats loose or a cracked hose etc brfore you replace a good gasket
  18. Nice - another 5'er on the forums. How many K'S?

  21. I guess if you got pump up air shocks you could do that, then lower it by releasing X amount of air out of them.
  22. You guys seem too of missed the point to my post, by a few million miles. Topic was not: 'look at me E - penis - I saw that site 1.5 days ago' ' im 23 and own the interweb - but mum pays the bills' If your car is stolen, don't cry a river here, because you just pwned yourselves. Others, have a browse around the site and if you spot a stolen in your local, you have done a good thing. Less ass-holes and f%$k tards on the streets, well, do I need to say this is a good thing?
