Do these have a temp gauge? My E90 doesn't & poor fuel economy can be linked to a stuck open thermostat & the engine running too cold. Be worth checking the live temp if it doesn't have a gauge. I don't believe it will throw a fault code either but see what you find.

Looks like it is in pretty good nick - but a regular maintenance bill for one of these would hurt let alone something expensive letting go after 200,000kms of thrashing.... Russian roulette seems like an appropriate call - you might be lucky, you might need to spend $15k.

In china, our guys saw them laying a concrete path around the factory one day then another guy out there the very next day carving it up to lay a pipe. Surely there are big savings to be made in construction costs just coordinating these planned activities?
-
That would be my first guess too.

Looks like they might just starting the model s in rhd shortly - the tesla Australia site is taking orders.

You purist you...

WTF? I only count 14 wheels (must be 3 wide?) & it has 19 Porsche engines?
-
That's ridiculous. No idea why you would want to do that let alone why you want to post it. The throwaway society we have become is f**king criminal.

Nobody will ever sign up to it if it costs $10k to install. As it is I would have a hard time justifying it over adsl - we have no problems viewing movies or YouTube & I don't really see the benefit of the higher speeds

They are putting fibre into our street at the moment but none of the guys doing it seem to know much more than their specific job. Once it's in the street how do you connect? Is it via some kind of converter buried at the letterbox that hooks into the existing phone lines or do they need to run fibre into the house & connect it from there? Doesn't seem feasible to run fibre to the house in our case without digging up the drive which they won't be doing...

It's a check engine light & could be any number of things. You need to get it scanned.

Confucius say if you spend $1000 on car you get $1000 car. Never seen a car in that price bracket that isn't "rough".
-
Wouldn't a manual conversion be a better use of you funds for the fun factor?

You're fricken mad.... By the time you have the $ to install it any number of things could have changed. And in the meantime you're stuck with a used blower sucking up space in your garage while quietly deteriorating. Sure you may be able to on sell it - but who knows how long that will take & the price you might get. There is no replacement for hard currency. My 2c

To me it sounds like it is running rich & potentially fouling plugs. The 30 secs may be where it's just coming off choke. Could be something like a duff temperature sensor or sticky butterfly?

OK - I grabbed an OE XP disc from work and installed Virtualbox. Everything installed without a hitch (including the printer utility) and even took the old Toshiba XP license key without asking questions. Wasn't expecting it to be so smooth.... Win!

Righto, my old XP laptop finally lunched itself (motherboard / video card) so the only machine we have in the house is my wife's macbook pro. The problem is that there is one piece of software for a Kyocera printer (KM-Net Direct) that she must have access to that doesn't appear to be available for the Mac OS (she needs to print a format that is just gobbledegook in any other software). The options as I see it are: - Install XP & run it under bootcamp (I don't have an XP install disc) - Buy another windows machine (don't really want to do this) - Find an emulator to run this one application Does anyone have any suggestions on an emulator that works? I've tried it with Wine Bottler & Crossover with no success so far. I did get Crossover to create the app & it even loaded correctly - just didn't print in anything legible. It's only one minor app, so an emulator would be best methinks. Other suggestions??

That sounds like sex on wheels.

Good result then!

Yeah, you said that in the first post. I'm not surprised they won't unlock it if they have invested money in the phone (subsidised it for a long term contract) and it gets sold to you in another country. They lose out on all fronts. Think of it like you loaning $1k to someone who then gets on the first flight to Brazil, then calls up & asks for your credit card number to rent a car. I don't blame them one bit. If the contract was complete, then I would agree with you but it isn't.
-
So it's still under contract? I'm not at all surprised they won't unlock it...

Anyone else waiting on parts from BMWNZ/Germany?

Bummer - I can imagine the meeting where the project manager told the IT manager they had just forked the entire system & no parts orders for the next 6 weeks.... Fun times in der fatherland -
What network is it locked to? Maybe contact them overseas for an unlock code? If it wasn't purchased on a contract, they may be OK unlocking it...

I thought they ran SAP. Which is just as bad.... -
There are so many good ones, it's hard to single one out but The Blues Brothers is probably my number one. Ronin was pretty good, the Bourne movies & Quantum of Solace were also worth a look.
