Also try westfalia automotive. They quoted around $480 for a non-removable one & around $900 for the removable type for my E90. both were fitted (they come to you) & included the wiring kit.

The last key i got from team mcmillan was around $16 from memory. Just take the car into the parts guys & they will have a full set to try one at a time.

I would try brent or ray for calipers. Wonder if the E39 calipers are the same?

A quick google suggests P1031 could be a cam position sensor. They can run a little rough & chew a little more gas with a cam sensor failed (as well as some power loss depending which one it is). As to the trasmission light, no idea.

Only time i had a smell like that in my e46 (at a stop) was related to the cam cover gasket was leaking. Microfilter is a 30 sec job in the e46 but unlikely to smell like burning oil.

Thats precisely what it is. I forget who it was, but they started buying an E39 lamp assy instead of the regular Hella aftermarket DE lamps.
