  1. Might have been safer to use a bic lighter to set it off.....
  2. Yes, Gavin offered to give my 320d a 25% boost in power just by tweaking the software (no hardware changes)....
  3. I personally hate the msport front bumper on E9x cars - looks like a slackjawed redneck mouthbreather if you ask me. Mine also has the msport steering wheel & seats (not sure about the suspension - but it's what I would call firm & approaching rollerskate). I do enjoy driving the diesel, but hate the 4cyl vibration - the 330d would be a much smoother car. Really? My E90 has plenty of room - I'm 6'2". More than my E46 too - although I dont think the build quality is as good as th E46.
  4. Even having the bulb in upside down will change the focal point & corresponding beam pattern.
  5. Yes. They are not cheap but then again they are factory approved & trained. The deal i had was the exception rather than the rule i think.
  6. Hmmm - have to dig out the Technic D6 bulldozer ive got!
  7. With these modern lamps, the optical properties are controlled by the reflectors not the "lens" (which is more of a transparent cover than anything else). From memory, the type approval is marked on the back of the lamp assembly.
  8. The coating you are so carefully removing is the UV protection for the polycarbonate. Removing this will only make them yellow faster in the harsh NZ sunlight. If you have polished the bejesus out of them & still have yellow, it is possible that its on the inside of the lens from using cheap bulbs that have a high UV content. This is particularly apparent if a halogen lens is on a xenon lamp assembly or HID retrofit bulbs have been used. If you do polish the yellow off & remove the diamond coat, you should respray with another UV coat to stop the yellowing returning.
  9. Is it even legal to install used air bags? I had a funny feeling it wasnt, but could be wrong. I would also question their worth given the current recall for E46 airbags....
  10. Are they the aero blades? Mine look a little like that but are not reversible.
  11. Used them many years back for a bike. Seemed quite good to deal with & reasonably priced - but I never had to make a claim.

    LPG & SUVs

Gas bbqing is so 2006.... Charcoal's where its at Isn't the point of having a horse to get from A to B?... Or is it supply for your new adhesive plant?

Huh? I would expect the exact opposite - particularly the later liquid injection systems that Ford used.
  14. And dont forget: 4: what do I need to do to get it certed Pretty sure that wheel spacers will require a cert....
  15. Give yourself an uppercut..... At least you know now!
  16. Guess it depends on the cam lift - it is feasible (and I have no idea what grind they have) that exhausts have higher lift than the intakes. Where did the motor come from & have you seen it running?....
  17. Thats to stop your average bogan doing burnouts in his HQ ute, blowing the diff & having to drive home in reverse.... Ironically, i know someone that did just that. Didnt seem like a great idea to be reversing through light controlled intersections even back then.
  18. The one i put on my E46 coupe was for a facelift m/sport 4 door - but I'm pretty sure it said it suited a touring as well? Fitted on the coupe no problems. It was a NZ factory one made by Best Bars. I've seen a couple on Trademe recently for the E46 - I'm on the scrounge for one to fit the E90 but they seem to be rarer than hens teeth second hand.
  19. Tyre bulge or delamination? Guess those would be more consistent. No heavy lumps of mud stuck inside the wheel? Had that before after some off road action.
  20. Drained of fluids? Maybe if you are airfreighting it.... Most people use roll on roll off car freighters - have a search of the site, this question has been raised a couple of times recently. In your situation, you may not need to pay GST and the frontal crash & emissions regulations might not be applicable - but i'm not sure.
  21. No the Australian version is the kangaroo test....
  22. Its so sad that even scammers just dont put the effort in these days..... I would be very doubtful its real without a letterhead & would be forwarding it onto the Police or BayCorp.
  23. Eeeek! $92 USD for a bunch of cut cables? About 3 people in the supply chain are making a killing on that one....
