  1. Awesome - thanks Ray. Will come up Saturday morning.
  2. I need a working Bosch / Automotive Lighting HID ballast for a Ford Mondeo. So why ask about Ford parts here? Should be the same as the E46 one if uncle Google is correct.... Specific part number is 1 307 329 064 (pic attached) but I believe if the "307 329" is correct, it should be good to go. Let me know if you have one.
  3. There is also an outfit in Otahuhu that can do castings - Supreme Steel from memory. Maybe cheaper to replace the engine than a one off bellhousing though....

    2000 E46 328i

What are the wheels you have on it?
  5. Guess so - my definition of classic boat is a mid 80's Apache or Cigarette....
  6. Are you mad?... Seriously. I'd be replacing it with something more reliable. Like a 50 year old hand grenade....
  7. Unlikely without guard rolling etc. The std offset for E90's is ET34 for an 8" rim.
  8. Oh my.... That'll be a handful when its up and running
  9. Make sure you can still comply it before going down that road.
  10. I got the mobility kit from Team McMillan for $150 from memory for the same reason. Still need to find a jack, but have reasoned that even if i get it up in the air there isnt much i can do with a bad puncture. I also got an AA membership in case the worst happens.
  11. Yup - me too. Only 5 series I would even entertain is the E60. The proportions on the others just dont look right to me...
  12. Guess it depends on your budget too. A good M3 will command 10-15k more but hold its value. M cars aren't noted for their economical service costs but if you've done your homework then no probs. As M3s are another level up, you might find they are kept in better condition than most 330's as well. While I've not driven an M3, my 330ci had plenty of get up and go. Can imagine an M3 could be a bit of a handful with another 100hp.... And if youre really keen, one of the guys on here is selling his M5 which looks pretty sharp in black if you like E39's.
  13. Yeah Gavin told me he could get 25% more power on less gas from mine. And thats without touching the engine - just software settings. The petrols dont get anything like that improvement... Thats a full dyno tune though
  14. My comment was based on what mine sold for 12 months back. The market for coupes is more limited as they are less practical - as I discovered after trying to sell mine for 6 months.... And to be honest if I didnt need the extra doors I would still be driving it. Loved my 330ci. I was also offered $15k for my mini by a dealer in the 1990's when I asked what it was worth.... Unless he was writing you a cheque at the time I would say optimistic. Maybe try him again!
  15. First you need to confirm the type of bulb you need. In NZ P21 (clear) or PY21 (amber bulb) are common bayonet fittings but have different internal codings so you cant accidetally use the wrong bulb. Then there is the bulb socket to housing coding which is sometimes different to stop you putting a stop bulb in an indicator lamp etc, etc. The bulb socket you linked on ebay looks to be a P21W (wedge base). It is a genuine Hella part, but it is common to have different bulbs for different markets - & that sellier looks to be american. Suggest talking to Ray or Brent for a spare from a wrecked car.
  16. If the new client in Waiuku is the steel mill i'm pretty sure i wouldnt be driving anything worth more than $5k out there... The place seems to eat cars.
  17. I always rated Alpine & Blaupunkt for good sound & gimmick free looks. I cant stand flashing blue graphic equalizers & related crap... Tried Paul Money in Mt Eden? Like you, i haven't had to buy an aftermarket stereo for years but got my last one from Paul Money. They used to have a good selection of quality kit & I think they did install as well.
  18. Where did uou get the blanking plates Jon? I'm planning to do mine when the warranty expires next year.
  19. What a sweet old bus. Not many around that well finished. Entry for that engine is a very reasonable $5500 USD + freight. Guess Powerhaus are the new Johnny's Speed & Chrome....
  20. Id be more concerned about the hairballs & bad "I'm gonna f**k you up" attitude. Typical of the Grizzly sub-model.
  21. I do like the E60 - only 5 series I would own. Love my heated seats in the winter though!
  22. Hw many hotdogs was that?
  23. Holy eye broccoli.... You would have to pay me to take it. Why spend $35k on that when a little more and you could have http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/ferrari/auction-699457757.htm
