    4x4's

My suggestions as a car dealer. 1. Put any thoughts of Landrover completely out of your mind (unless you have just won Lotto) 2. Forget any 2.8ltr Toyota diesel. They are notorious for blowing head gaskets and warping the heads. Because of this you simply cannot buy good second hand heads and a new one costs well over $1,000.00. 3. Although the Bighorn is a reasonable vehicle for the price, it is still a "poor man's" 4X4. They are not the best offroader, they tend to rust, but parts are readily available. 4. The Nissan Patrol/Safari is one of the best 4X4's to come out of Japan. I used to sell them new in Australia and one of the major selling points was that they were the off road vehicle of choice of the major mining and construction businesses because of their ruggedness. 5, The Toyota Prado would be the vehicle that I would recommend. They are a very strong vehicle, not exactly a great off roader, but a reasonable one. The 3.0ltr turbo diesel is a magnificent motor which has tons of torque and accellerates almost as well as an equivalent petrol engine. Hope this helps.
  8. Jordan, just make sure your panelbeater uses new parts. I did the same as you last year, drove up the rear of another car which stopped in front of me, and the panelbeater used a second hand nose-cut to repair it and I have just had to replace the radiator etc. The radiator he installed wasn't even the correct one for my car and it has only lasted 8 months. Glenn put a new radiator in today however prior to that he has had to replace the radiator shroud, fan and viscous coupling because of the shoddy parts that were used. On the good side though, the insurance company are going to come to the party and refund me most of the expenses I have had to incur.

How Australian. It's simple, divide 87 by 24 and you get 3 cases and 15 bottles. Muldoon was right about the IQ of Aussies.
  11. It's still under wraps at the moment but Glenn might be able to post a picture later
  12. Yes, that's right, I now have a new knob. In fact I've got Glenn's old knob and it's three times as thick as my old one. I'm going to like my new knob.

  15. The best way to find out is to ask the seller a question. They should know what model car they came off.

  19. I am upgrading the sound system in my car and recently scored this sub woofer. OK it's a 12" Cerwyn Vega but I need to know exactly which model it is so that I can get the correct box and amplifier for it. I know it is a twin coil speaker rated at I would say 1000-1200 watts, bit the only identifying mark on the speaker is VMAX 124 plus of course the Cerwyn Vega name. Can anyone here help please.
  20. Hi Darren, Can you tell us where these rotors are manufactured., Thanks Brian.

  22. Well Glenn, you'll just have to give up being a mechanic and become a hairdresser.
  23. #1. Ferrari Enzo 196 MPH This is the world's highest known crash speed on open roads. There are only a handful of cars even capable of reaching these speeds. The driver was drunk and pushing the limits of this $1.3 million car on the Pacific Coast Highway when he lost control and crashed into a utility pole. Miracolously, he walked away from the accident.
  24. #2. Dodge Viper 170 MPH The driver of this 1998 Dodge Viper was pushing 170 MPH when he lost control on a stretch of Arizona highway. After flipping a few times, the car slammed sideways into a pole.
