Can anyone here please tell me how to set up my Valentine 1 correctly? I am sick of it going off every time I pass Middlemore Hospital, petrol stations and traffic lights.

He has just been found not guilty on all counts. Whoopee!!!!!

The Alpine mids we had were 6" speakera, and although we could have fitted them in, it was decided that the Nakamichi were a better sounding proposition.
-
Peter, the drinking of Heinekins was a very important part of installing the system, otherwise how could we have tuned the system properly. apologies for the 'out of focus' pics too.

That's because people are keeping their old car and maintaining them rather than buying a new one.If you want to see a recession in the car industry, take a drive around your local dealers and see how many have closed shop. As I said to you yesterday Glenn, my income has taken a nosedive over the last few weeks, and in fact over the last month my oncome has dropped to about an eighth of what it normally is.

Several weeks ago I started a thread asking for information about a sub woofer speaker I was given. I was given a lot of information about the speaker, however Peter (Pjay) introduced me to a friend of his and a fellow Bimmersporter (Jafa and proud) who built and installed my system. I am wrapt. Hayden built a sub box which he custom fitted to the boot of my car (and I can still get at the spare tyre) and supplied all the other components. They include: Sony Xplod head unit, Adzest (Clarion) 400 watt, 4 channel Amplifier, Nakamichi 5.25" mid range speakers, Alpine type S tweeters, Alpine crossovers, and of course the Cerwin Vega VMax 124 sub woofer. The tweeters in the door are still there but disconnected, rear speakers are still in place but only driven by the head unit, and the Nakamichis have taken the place of the OEM's in the front footwell. This is a window shaking system and I love it. To demonstrate the system to people, I always play the theme music to the TV show 'Overhaulin'...... Gasoline by King Harold, and it goes down a treat whit most people. Thanks to Hayden and Pjay for all their help.

Hi mate, that's one nice coupe. Take no attention of those here who tell you to keep it standard. There are some here who don't believe in "personalising" their rides and others who do. I'm one of those that do, so you have my total approval of what you intend doing, and E36's look damn good once you do some cosmetic changes. Take a look at mine. http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=19512 BTW. Pm me if you want to sell your old alloys because I have some one who wants a set of those.

I am looking to buy an E36 Motorsport coupe either a 323 or 328 and preferably in black. I had a fresh import on the yard (a '96 323) which I recently sold now I have another customer who wants the same sort of car. Unfortunately I can't import these any more, so I have to find an existing one. I don't care if it's an auto or manual, Cosmosschwartz is the prefered colour but will look at any others. Please PM me if you have one of these cars or know of one for sale. PS. The car should be in Auckland or close by.

Don't be too hard on Team McMillen. Light bulbs can blow at any time. I've seen brand new bulbs blow the first time that they are turned on so there is a very good chance that the bulb was replaced but blew not long after. As for the "salesman", and I think you mean the 'service manager' I think his offer to ring the cops was just to cover you until you could get the car back to them to have the bulb replaced. Just my opinion but as one who works in the auto industry, it annoys me that people are so quick to criticise the service they receive without giving any thought to what has really gone wrong.

I agree with you Graham re crowd control, however, I always used to go to the Manukau WRC superstage and stand at the end of the first straight at the sweeping left hander, and, several years ago the public (me included) could stand very close to the corner and get showered with gravel every time a car went through, but the barrier got further and further from the corner until we were kept so far away that you couldn't see the cars at all. I'm all for crowd saftey, but PLEASE, don't sacrifice the thrill of being up close to the racing. There has to be a happy medium.

What's all this about "gay" BMW's? I'm begining to wonder if a lot of the members here aren't quietly sitting in their closets waiting for the just the right time to emerge, and that this thread is the catalyst for them all to come out of their closets and reveal their true selves. Now I'm outta here.

One thing everyone has forgotten, if Nick removes his spoiler, he is going to have to put one of those horrible aftermarket high stop lights in his rear window. Choice, spoiler with built in brake light or the 'clean look' with an ugly high stop light. I know which way I would go.
-
The silly thing about this car is that it is registered with LTSA as a 1998 BMW M3 Saloon. Either the compliancing officer was drunk, or he was bribed to put it down as an M3. The owner is an Indian who lives in Mt. Wellington, and there are now 21 unanswered questions.

It is against the law to cross the Harbour Bridge on a bicycle or on foot, so they broke the law. There are other ways of protesting than blatantly breaking the law.
-
The protesters actions were blatantly criminal. They broke the law by walking and cycling over the bridge and disobeying the orders of the police. For that, they should all have been arrested although with 2,000 protesters and about 20 police, that scenario was impossible. If you watched channel 3's news last night, the Harbour Bridge authority stated that they would like to see cycle and pedestrian lanes added but, until another harbour crossing was built, it would be impossible as the current bridge wasn't strong enough. The protesters knew this and yet they are prepared to put the entire bridge in jeopardy and the saftey of motorists just to get something that will be used by only a few cyclists.
-
I voted to keep it. Nick, your car and mine are virtually identical and both have the same M3 type spoiler and there's no way I would ever remove mine. As others here have said, it makes the car look more aggressive and gives it a lot better stance. My 2 cents worth.

Eddy, Team McMillen haven't got it wrong at all. They have clearly stated that it shows 83,913kms, and if you had read my previous post you will see that I said that this car has a five digit odometer and they MUST state what the odometer reads. It probably has done 283,000 kms but the law regarding motor vehicle dealers states that you declare what is shown on the odometer. It makes me wonder about the intelligence of some of the members here when all they can do is troll through Trade Me and look for mistakes and post them on this forum without thinking of a possible reason as to why a seller has said what he has, and why. This last paragraph isn't directed at you Eddy.
-
This car has a five digit odometer and some WoF inspectors will only put what is shown on the odo on the Wof, while others will show the invisible sixth digit. This accounts for a lot of discrepancies especially in older vehicles.

That's exactly right Mark, you don't know, which means you have no right to make libelous statements the way you have. I have done a VIR on this car. It came to NZ on 14th Nov. 1995 with 55,849kms on the clock, a reasonable mileage for a ten year old Jap import that was privately owned in Japan.
