I should have said - has to double as an "economical" daily driver...
-
So I was at Taupo, and some bloke strolls up and wants to buy my towcar. It was 2005 Maxima ti Leather, nice car, economical and reliable, but bland as. Has to double as daily driver. So I am thinking, e60 530d touring, motorsport preferably. Would like to keep to say $20k. I dont really want an X3 or X5. Anything out there? Cheers...Stephen

Ok, I went and had a look at this car today. It is very clean, straight and tidy, everything seems to work as it should. But there are just a couple of odd things. "the left inner front guard has been replaced". Really? that is why the paint code sticker says it is Diamantschwarz, whereas the car is Lachsilber (or more likely dolphin grey). Gear knob need replaced, no big deal. Aftermarket drivers seat. The other front and rear seats are in Ok condition, stitching coming apart in one or two places. But, the door trims are different to the seat trim, and the rear side interior panels are different again. There are a few little nicks and scratches, nothing too serious. It is Japan spec, so standard gearbox, not dog-leg. I am tempted, but...

So with the Aussie exchange rate so much in their favour, joining fee around $500 and ten bucks a year after! And they can fly in to Queenstown for less than the cost to fly from Auckland; leave their wife/girlfriend/partner(or all three) in Queenstown to go shopping, while they hit the track for some fast laps. Not a bad deal really. Circuit opens at Easter, but no racing, just people doing laps.

Hi Lawrence, you been very quiet lately does it have the boss kit with it? Cheers...Stephen

It all depends, Pre face lift usually have separate carpet / underlay, facelift have it all in one piece. (A real pain when it gets wet). But I had a late facelift SA built sedan that still had separate carpet / underlay. Sedan / Coupe are different only on the edges by the doors, this area is covered anyway so effectively they are interchangeable.

You need to specify pre or post facelift, 4 or 6 cylinder as they are different...
