You are better off getting a facelift 325 motor, but only if you can get it complete including loom and ecu. There is a bit of wiring to do, but easy enough. (There have been several previous posts with step by step). Fuel pump and your existing Getrag 240 will be fine.

There is a guy in Auckland who has a 1930 (?) Studebaker roadster which he bought when he was 14. He is now 65 and still drives it! Actually the profile looks very similar - and they say modern cars all look the same!

Come along to any of the Bimmersport Welly meets and talk - there are plenty of us with race cars and race experience. Join the BMW Car Club - get the joining fee as an Xmaxs pressie as suggested above. The start coming to the Intermarque meetings at Manfeild, just to hang out or wave a flag initially, and get one of the guys with a roll cage to take you for a ride. You will be hooked. There are plenty of other events in Welly region also.

No progress, car is off having new exhaust made (last job before warrant check) Mr P may well have offered, even if he doesn't know it yet. Can only be the sender unit at the diff (I have a spare to try) or a broken wire - tried everything else!

All seems a bit weird, I am wondering if there is an earth wire from the loom to the body I think it attaches near the ecu - I will check tonight

Both have stopped, but the other guages work (fuel, temp, lights etc)

So, have reassembled my E30 Baur, 325 etc and the speedo has stopped working. have tried different clusters, fuse, checked the plug at the diff. Any ideas?
