  1. Was down in maraetai with my friends for a weekend bbq and saw a convoy of approx 10+ BMW's drive past. One of the ones I remember was a white E36 touring plate M3 WGN. anyone know about this group of ppl?
  2. front and rear bumpers, msport seats, steering wheel, xenon headlights
  3. Anyone wanna buy our silver E91 325i msport sunroof with only 47kms? Im gonna see if I can convince the old man to buy a f10 535i wagon
  4. buy it, swap the msport parts onto it from the sedan then sell the sedan for 3-4k

  6. LCI is definitely nicer and if its the 3L engine even better! We have gone for standard non run flat tyres and have roadside assistance cover with our insurance. I think its fine for around town and if we need to go away then maybe just throw a space saver in the boot just for extra safety but otherwise just hope for the best haha.. RFT kill the ride on E9x imo
  7. I would say $9k would see it sold. any more than 10k then there are much more options in the market for not a lot more money so its very tough. I would try my best to hold onto it if it is mechanically sorted. Any kind of money saved from downgrading will probably go into repairs and maintenance
  8. An e46 330i is really really a good car.. and the price is because they are SO rare now... to find a black msport 330i touring with lowish kms is impossible (funny because john? on the forum literally just bought one not long ago, I wonder how much for hmm..) In saying that though.. a nice E87 130i is SO much more car for 14k than an E46. 10years+ newer, more power, handles better, rides better, more comfortable.. I really do wonder why I sold my 130i now..
  9. E87 130i - a great car for a couple with a baby but not suitable for family of adults/grown up kids. It was totally fine when I had to take my family around occasionally and have even done some road trips with friends. This car is more suitable if you enjoy driving (solo) and still need to do the grocery run etc. E91 325i - (Our current family car after changing from an E39 touring) smaller yes, but slightly better on fuel, still enough power from the 2.5L N52 engine. If budget allows try to find the newer LCI 325i model with the 3L engine for more power but otherwise still fine and well priced these days. E61 530i etc - these things are big. and heavy. you need at the very least a 3L engine and still will feel underpowered IMO. Really need like a 535d or a 540/545/550 but then you have issue with higher fuel consumption and higher maintenance for the bigger engines. Also, the good well looked after ones are still too expensive and the cheap ones have been thrashed to death by those who can get their hands on a "cheap V8 BMW" and neglect all service. My opinion is E91 if family car is the most important. But if you are driving it for day to day etc then a 130i is waaay more fun than a 325i. The 130i can still easily handle 2 adults in the front and a baby seat. Even roadtrips are fine if not awesome with that lovely straight 6, 3L engine sound. Bootspace will be tight if you need to take 4 adults and legroom is a bit average if the people in the back are taller than 6ft. Go testdrive a NICE E87 130i before you decide.. there are heaps on the market and reasonably priced too. edit: there is a nice 330i E46 wagon on trademe at the moment $12-14k. a bit expensive but worth a look and negotiate a deal?

    E46 318ci

    N46B20A The N46B20A produces 105 kW (141 hp) and 200 N⋅m (148 lb⋅ft). Applications: 2004-2006 E46 318i, 318Ci and 318ti
  11. +1 on 17" for a e36 328i. 17x7.5 or 17x8 is good with the right offset you can go square 235 40 17 or you can go staggered 225 45 17 front 245 40 17 rear The reason your current tyres look bulged is because the sidewall profile is 50 and its a 225 width on a 7" rim. step up to a 17" wheel to get a lower profile 40 or 45 and then the 225/235/245 width will be fine because you will also get a wider wheel 7.5/8/8.5"
  12. rushed question = rushed answers. Now you have explained the situation better Im sure you will find more people chiming in with better help

  15. Very nice!! makes me miss my 130i so much. Amazing car and imo it beats all other cars in it's class and even others like the e90 sedan or x3's in terms of performance and practicality. Sunroof is a must and the CIC is much much nicer than the CCC. Well done!!
  16. Surprised that was not replaced already.. maybe I did it on my old e39 sedan but not for the wagon.. buggar! there was nice blue BMW coolant in there too!! Anyway, keep in mind, all those parts we replaced have lifetime warranty as long as we can send it back to the supplier
  17. Hey dude, let me know if you find out what caused it. If it was a failure of one of the parts that we replaced I am happy to claim warranty for you.
  18. Nice E39 you got there. Below is the build sheet 1998 build with goodies like sports seats, msport suspension, msport steering wheel. In my opinion, this is a factory non msport car but with the few msport options ticked when originally ordered rather than a msport with standard bumpers. Easiest giveaway imo is all msport has the option code for "anthracite interior" which translates to black/dark grey headlining/pillar fabric as opposed to the light grey. Nevertheless, looks like a very well sorted car especially with all that work done to it it must drive like new! 19. FYI our current set up on our E91: 18x8 ET13 225 40 18 18x9.5 ET25 with 255 35 18 Could have gone with 265 35 18 on the rear for a straighter sidewall. Seeing as you are trying to fit ET20 on 9" wide rims, I would say you are bang on with 225 front and 245 rear otherwise it will need some guard work.
