  1. very nice! cant say i like the taillights (looks like its copied from the newer model?) but still looks great regardless. the only thing i always disliked about mk5 golfs is the black bumper/side trims. why cant it be body coloured?
  2. Hi fellas Im looking at a pair of used tyres on trademe and the seller has old me the manufacture date is 3611 so September 2011. 6mm left of tread Will these be okay to use provided theres no damge or cracking? Cheers

    Quick rant thread.

Spitting is illegal in Singapore lol
  4. weak moment leading to a very strong sounding exhaust. i approve.
  5. hahahaha the things some people (dealers) do.. there is a difference between an is200 and a altezza. afaik leather seats is the main giveaway. cant go wrong with a nz new manual 328is but the red is really only for certain taste.. ive grown quite fond of this boston green, used to hate it back in the day but its a refreshing change from all the black cars ive owned recently. (hey graham, i was trying to find pics of your megane rs the other day but no luck.. got a link?)
  6. Got the headliner out and going to retrim it over the weekend. Will also be installing a front lip as well. Pics once its done.
  7. My friend just sold a real tidy mk6 gti 2010 for 20k only 49ks
  8. Another member sold his near new condition set without tyres on trademe for $565. judging from his auction it seems that the width is 8.5" front and 9.5" rear http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=894617544 http://bimmersport.co.nz/topic/52960-bmw-135i-stock-18-staggeredwheels-for-sale-bargain/ i would have thought $500 (your original price) was about right or slightly expensive considering it costs about $10 per tyre to remove and given the curbing condition. for $750 i would expect wof standard tyres IMO, just a thought
  9. ^great info thanks! Will definitely look into it
  10. ive used fcp euro before and they were always good. I will also check with paul at milland to compare prices. hey mike, ive been searching for the part number for the front windscreen rubber seal but the straight piece that goes along the bottom edge. no luck any ideas? http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/showparts?id=BG22-EUR-07-1995-E36-BMW-328i&diagId=51_2051 number one in this diagram i think
  11. https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/bmw-suspension-control-arm-kit-4-piece-e36-e364piecekit found this for about $400 nzd. price ok?
  12. Will be doing the headliner at some point but here is my temporary fix.. haha Bmw spiderweb
  13. How did u know? Anyway..it was getting late and i didnt realise that it was the same size as a wheel bolt... ha.. Lol im not in the city anymore.
  14. ^ not sure. I will definitely look into it when I have time. Anyway, so the oil and filter change went smoothly. got about 5L of very yucky black thickshake (oil) out of it after leaving it to drain for about 30-40 minutes. refilled it with 6.5L of the castrol edge titanium 5w-30 and a new filter. While i was under the car i noticed that there was a lot of oil build up between the engine oil tank and the trans connection part. hmmm any ideas what it would be? Also noticed some bushing on the front drivers side need attention. Will be placing an order overseas to get a bunch of goodies soon yay! edit: Photos of said bushings
  15. I was really considering those the chief chicksaw or whatever it is. it was abuot $55 for a 5L bottle. woud have got 3 bottles for the price of two castrols or valvelines but decided not to be too cheap haha. they were Bmw LL01 approved and VW 502.00. I do want to try the valveline 5w-40 at some stage. maybe on my next oil change.
  16. i have a socket set.. just didnt have that size.. lol
  17. All done. The oil plug bolt on the vw was so bad. It would warp when using monkey wrench or vice grip. Anyway i was able to borrow the right socket from a nice neighbour and its all done. Yay
  18. Ok gonna see if i have one in my other cars. I tried with a plus sign shaped one i normally use but was too tight to manouver that under the car
  19. Looking for a 17mm socket to undo a oil drain plug on my vw. What a nightmare. Nothing else works. Let me know if anyone can lend me one. Otherwise ill go buy one tommorrow no worries
  20. I think ill just grab the castrol edge 5w30 for both cars
  21. I need to do an oil change for both my cars and was hoping to buy the same type since each car takes around 6-7L so I can buy 3 bottles and have a bit left over for top ups. looking at the Valveline SYNPower 5w-40 and it meets BMW LL01 as well as VW 502.00 I do have a 5L bottle of the castrol edge 5w-30 at home and was planning to use it for the bmw but i dont think i can use this for the VW. does anyone know? I have searched google but not much info that relates to us in NZ as most people cry about temperature fluctuations in the states etc. At supercheapauto its $79 for a 5L bottle of the valveline stuff... so its gonna cost me like $240 + filters. jeeez.. thats quite a lot.
  22. hahahaha dave. thats hilarious!
  23. so i was looking at the rego sticker as I was taking off the old one and replacing it with a clean new rego holder thingy and noticed that the car is registered as "BMW 328IAS" what is "ias" never heard of it before... is it easy to change it to 328i if i go into vtnz or something? (yes, i know its pretty pedantic of me but it kind of bugs me... i have seen some that are even registered as something more ridiculous like BMW 318i 4DR saloon evo sport m or something along those lines..)
  24. That white 330 for 18k is stupidly overpriced imo. A member just sold his 2006 genuine msport 323i with 87ks or so for $10500
  25. looks nice! how much did u pay for it if u dont mind sharing
