  1. $1000 is about right $250 is way off the mark unless its a guy working out of his home garage
  2. Wanted to chat with the owner but was in a rush. Very nice m5

    Rudolph the Red Ti

pulled cluster out and saw there was a dead bulb behind the airbag light. swapped with a working bulb and surely enough the airbag light comes and stays on. then looked at the occupancy sensor and the bypass 'mod' has already been done to it but looking a bit dodgy so re-did it and will try to reset the light later see how it goes.
  4. hope you're alright hans! so not driving trucks anymore? for good?
  5. Dave is definitely closer to me just need to do the seat bypass first then will have a go to reset the airbag light on the cluster. cheers all!
  6. not with 190,000kms lol.. even for 28k.. or even 18k its still heaps of money for a 93 M3 3.0

that is probably the root problem, then someone was too cheap to by a bypass kit for $5 and pulled the bulb from the cluster. meh

so it failed a WOF because the airbag light DOES NOT come on.. ever. I will need to take the cluster out to see if it has a bulb behind there but if not then probably it has an airbag light on issue which is probably the case.. buggar!
  9. i may need to go test drive some diesels then.. tbh not sure what im missing but happy to be proven wrong. I reckon the new G chassis 3 series is awesome, but it will probably be a good 4 years or so until they become more affordable..
  10. like I said, if you dont want to spend too much then there are plenty of 335i wagons (N54) for cheap. If you want to spend a bit more then F chassis is the way to go. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1870699013 this one? its a lot of money for an E chassis car.. a normal 335i wagon is only like 15k now, which is why I suggested F chassis for 25k which isnt much more in $ but way more car. I personally would stay away from diesel bmw's in general (fire)
  11. save yourself the trouble and sell the car asap and buy something else. the 320i model is plagued with engine problems and is a guaranteed money pit. to answer your original question, you can install whatever aftermarket unit you like but to be honest none of them are excellent, some better than others and usually cost $1000+ to do it properly. basic package stereo sounds pretty bad, at least hi-fi or logic 7 is nice but expensive to retrofit unless you can DIY with online guides and find the part from wreckers and you still will need to have the gear to code and program it - again, not worth the trouble. you will end up spending more money on it than taking the money you paid for the car and getting something better/newer like a facelift better spec'ed 325i for example.
  12. that is true, Ive seen one for sale, was a very very tidy looking black msport nz new one for sale in akl for 30k asking, sold within a couple of days for 27-28k i think. I am biased anyway, I love my N55, also love the 8 speed ZF, have driven both N54 and 6 speed auto on the E90/E91/E92 chassis too as well as the E82 135i but the F chassis is far far superior. If you dont NEED a stationwagon, a car like mine, the M135i is getting crazy cheap and you can get a good one for 25-30k easily now whereas a F31 is harder to find. The E91 facelift however is probably going to cost 20-25k at least so the M135i is worth a consideration imo.
  13. quite rare to find a late model one of these and when you do find one expect to pay top dollar. is there any reason you want this specific model over the normal more common pfl n54 version? or otherwise any reason not to go for a F30/F31 335i touring instead for a bit more money?
  14. go for it. its a good price especially with genuine bbs wheels worth another 1k ish
  15. much like a lot of brand new cars in NZ. the dealers either spec them poorly/wrongly or just too overpriced for the market until they realise 4 years later they gotta drop the price to move stock in order to re-fill it with other useless cars that will sit for another 4 years.
  16. Should last 60-100 thousand kms
  17. will do olaf! I am enjoying his style of videos, the classical music, the cute frenchie, bimmer nut attitude and general flow of his videos all very well done imo.
  18. randomly stumbled upon this car youtuber with some funny NZ content like the video below:
  19. I get 3x 5L bottles of castrol edge for $120 and either get oem or genuine filters for $10-35. At 6-6.5L capacity, my oil change costs me less than $100, probably even $60-70 if i pre order the filters from overseas. Very cheap indeed. Mind you, i had the valvetronic and eccentric shaft replaced not long ago which is a head off job so its probably good i changed the oil now. Its really hard to fault this car as an all rounder but gotta make sure to keep plenty of change as parts are expensive..
  20. castrol edge 5w-30
  21. just ticked over 109,000 after the new years road trip and did an oil change. exactly 8500kms since the last one. man the oil was filty and the engine sounds like brand new now..
  22. Wonder if i can retro fit that to my 116 fuel flap? Haha
  23. The 325ti is probably one of the best you can get, amazing power to weight ratio, easy to drive and to work on (e46) and a good 6 cylinder engine. Yours looks like a fully spec'd one now that Im looking at it on my computer screen with PCD and everything. even though its not Msport, actually looks absolutely fine and very tidy in silver. Hope you got it for a good price! re: audio - if you want to DIY, you can easily do a tablet retrofit, otherwise plenty of chinese android replacement headunits from aliexpress etc.
