    BMW service

How much did you pay for your 116i if you dont mind sharing? And how much did you spend on the autosure warranty? How long do you plan to keep the car and is it the only car you have? too many variables, so many opinions, no right or wrong answers, but since you dont have tools or knowledge, take the car to a workshop, expect to spend $500+ each service at least and learn about cars for the future/next BMW you may or may not buy. Also, mech warranty is bloody annoying and only really useful for big major issues and it is kind of redundant on a cheap car like the 116i but then again the 116i is pretty unreliable so you may be lucky with the warranty in a year or so if it decides to break down.
  2. option 1 - get a band expander to get NZ radio, use phone's google maps for navigation and forget about bluetooth option 2 - sell car and buy a nz new model to get radio and navigation (still no bluetooth music with CCC iDrive) option 3 - get it done at euro surgeon instead of auto gravity (still expensive) option 4 - make friends with people who can fix this kind of things and spend a lot of time reading/searching and see if you want to make it a project to "fix/upgrade" it yourself (still requires more parts and tools and knowledge)
  3. that blue 130i in the OP was around when I bought my 130i back a couple years ago. back then it was asking 20k ish.
  4. There was some guy who posted on this thread (and other ancient threads) saying he could fix them up haha looks like it has been removed which makes my post look weird and out of place
  5. Our crashed E91 is with Brent, with msport rear bumper and tow bar if you need it
  6. have you driven any other E9X such as 325i/330i to compare chassis agains the n54 power? also have you driven the newer F chassis with N55 or similar to compare same power with the completely different feeling in terms of handling etc?
  7. someone needs to put these on an E30. Always thought it would look really good
  8. Its a good engine.. makes good power stock, can handle good power, but requires regular oil changes, needs things like spark plugs and coil packs replaced every so often, sensors will fail and need replacing, but still its all good because we love BMWs and something being unreliable just means it hasnt been serviced and looked after properly. Now if you take a toyota corolla, thats reliable even if you neglect all service for 50,000kms it will still run happy as larry. that is good.
  9. needs some better offset/wider wheels especially in the rear! (take my 2p BBS RS-GT :))
  10. I have a crashed E91 325i wagon that I am going to hand off to brent in the next few days if that helps. all engine bits intact and actually has a 1 year old new battery in it
  11. cool, double slat kidney grills!
  12. I dont think the 1M has as good value-holding potential as most people had anticipated and hyped over when they first released. I also dont see it going up hugely in value anytime soon which is why a lot of them are for sale. At 75k or similar for the 1M you are almost in the ballpark of F80 M3 money which is totally different to the E9x M3 which are worth 35-50k. I dont think you can compare this to the M3, way more value in the M3 which ever model it is compared to a 1M
  13. at the end of the day its just my opinion on the market value. of course it is open to interpretation and happy to be proven wrong!
  14. tell me about it. Used to have an E350, brilliant V6 engine but handles like a boat. cant imagine the E55/63 being much better being even more powerful
  15. cant go wrong with a nice W211
  16. I think its a nicely spec'd e60 m5 and very well priced.
  17. PFL pre 2000 with high mileage - $15-18k PFL pre 2000 with average mileage well optioned and maintained $17-21k FL 2001+ with high mileage but well optioned and maintained - $18-22k FL 2001+ with low mileage well optioned but reregistered - $26-30k FL 2001+ with average milage well optioned well maintained no accident history - $30k FL 2001+ with low mileage well optioned well maintained no accident history - $32-36k
  18. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1784690495 $24k including ORC. bargain?
  19. I think it sold for the "correct" market price. $18k the reserve would have been bargain buying. $20k ideal and $22k a top dollar price. Nice colour, good options and facelift, has a europlate and michelin tyres, looks to have been well cared for during long ownership properly used. It would be the perfect car to actually use and enjoy without worrying about it every time you park it somewhere. kms are highish for NZ standards but nothing in the grand scheme of things, 125k miles is nothing
  20. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1787938122 Car looks to be in excellent condition for 200,000 kms someone got a good deal I reckon
  21. all the technology but still doesnt make you a better driver after all..
