Its very hard to judge/determine the "value" of a car or what its "worth" because it is always subjective. I think in this particular example, its better off keeping it because you probably wont be able to sell it for more than 6k and the enjoyment you get from driving it is "worth" at least that much.

There are better options than this.. especially if you are happy to spend $1300 on that funky looking thing. you can upgrade to genuine CiC completely probably with that kind of budget and get all the NZ map navi radio all done for that kind of price. Otherwise you can mod the CCC. Or there are replacement units that look better than the pioneer thing. I’m not 100% sure tbh. It’s my dads car and he reckon it wasn’t as good as he wanted it to be. I drove the car many times and thought it was fine. And even after the change I don’t notice a huge difference. I mean yes the bushes are brand new and handling is a lot tighter and firmer. I don’t think ours made any noise except ours had perished bump stops which we replaced. If I remember correctly dad wasn’t happy with the left side. Maybe you wanna take this and try the right side to see if it fixes your problem?

^ dont think thats quite fair. 2013-2017 + $50-60k = 163 BMW's but none of these are M3 or close. I can only find 1 listing that MAY be close which is a NZ new 435i 2015 with 30kms for $60k but gran coupe, not sure if the OP is keen on this shape. https://www.trademe.co.nz/1603054579 Otherwise there is 1x 335d imported, and a few 330e and 330d. Nothing that comes close to a M3.

Can we safely rule out that it is not a coil pack issue? The demo one you tried could it be a dud? You can easily swap coil packs around each cylinder etc and see if the misfiring moves with the coil.
