+1 Great call on the brake light delete. I think the spoiler is a little out of place but the car looks nice with or without it
-
Somebody buy this before I get tempted...

If you do chop it up I could be interested in the wheels -
WTB replacement e34 springs and/or shocks. 0274977188

The e34's brakes are slowly driving me insane. I've inspected all the pads - plenty of life left all around and no obvious debris. I'm in the process of swapping out the front rotors for some new replacements but I'm pretty sure the sound is coming from the rear. I managed to swap out one of the fronts on the weekend but the head on the grub screw that aligns the other front disc was rounded so that will have to wait Anyone had any luck with anti squeal compounds etc? I've read a bit about them online but I'm skeptical my problem is caused by caliper/pad vibrations which is what those products are supposed to cure? Before I got the car it had been garaged for about 6 years. Are the pads/rotors likely to go off in that time frame? The rears do look pretty tired... pictures below are of RR thanks in advance

I would definitely expect michelins! Very cheap of Toyota, especially considering she paid sticker price... If BMW did the same thing you'd be rightfully livid. No reason Toyota should get away with it just because it's a less exclusive manufacturer.

fire engine red.... make it stop. Works on a 3 series - not a 5. Must have some rank BO to need two air fresheners.

The whizzing noise could be the power steering pump. If you haven't already, check the fluid

very impressive. torque curve is amazing and the 7,500+ red line is good to see. Still going to miss the old N/A //M engines though

Mate you havent lived!

I can think of far worse uses of taxpayer $. At least this is supporting an entire industry (whether we win the cup or not) and helping to push NZ's technical capabilities. A guy I live with is a builder. He is on a job where HNZ tenants pulled up the floorboards in the kitchen for an indoor hangi. Happens all the time he reckons. Tenants trashing houses only to be repaired and destroyed again in a couple of months. Tax payer wears it everytime. But I see what you're saying. Some people aren't into yachting.. fair enough. For those of us that are its worth a few bucks... win or lose

The fully electric Tesla Model S isn't bad: It's as quick as the f10 m5 and about 25% cheaper. They've been selling like hotcakes.
-
Damn those are sharp! Give me a shout if you get your hands on something similar. e34 + dish is a match made in heaven Clear indicators and tints would finish off the looks I reckon. That's probably way down on your list of priorities though

After replacing the thermostat on my e34 I'm still getting 18.2l/100km My commute is a 16km in Auckland traffic.... It's slow... but far from stop start. I'm booking it in for a scan/vacuum leak check. Fingers crossed they find something wrong with it. If not I'm going to have to invest in a small-medium sized oil rig

2nd hand utes. They all have heaps of kms and are still worth heaps of money. As an example: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-616603921.htm that is $60k brand new Which is equivalent to a 2006 e60 530d with 160km on it going for $65k

Feeling a little down about your car salesman skills?
kingkarl replied to sascha's topic in TradeMe discussions
Yeah sounds about right. Pretty cool car all the same though -
You have come a long way mate! This was mine: Sold it not long after I bought it to avoid dishing out for new tyres and a clutch Then I bought, this time off my Grandma: It was mint when I got it. Poor thing managed to hold up to 70,000km of absolute abuse... hardly a day went by I didn't do skids in it.... Also spend most of its life near the redline. One of the diff bearings started to get a little noisey but other than that it was solid as when I sold it at 220000km. Both of the two cars above cost more than the e34 and were infinitely worse (if not infinitely cheaper to run and maintain)
-
Superb! This is the kind of car that would tempt me into buying an e30
-
Nope... same with 99% of cars I talk sh*t about Had a ride in one about 5 years ago though
-
I'm with you mate. Although I love the e39 I don't reallllly see what all the fuss is about regarding e39 m5s vs e60 m5s. I don't consider the e39 that much better looking than the e60 and as you say the e60 represents a huge technical leap (not important to many I guess). The e60's v10 has to be one of the best //M engines ever. Infact if I was to rank all generations of the m5 I'd probably go: e28 -> e60 -> e39 -> f10 -> e34 I'd go quattroporte over any m5 everytime too

Nice, i forgot how nice the 4 doors look. Interior picture would be good Original wheels look better though (sorry)

90s diesels were terrible! Guaranteed to make the car worse. I'd be looking around for an s50 personally
-
^haha I think it looks shite personally
