Take it down the 1/4. Dyno it too. Looks good. Fuel economy not so great though. How heavy is it? That's a big motor on the front.

You will still need to comply with ADR regs though I believe. Euro cars are very expensive over there new as they have a Luxury car tax. The reason that the residuals are still high on them.

6.85s for the 540. I'm with everyone else. You have been on something while testing your E30.

Do you have any carparts in your bedroom?

I've got Carpet in my house. Was that a typo Tim? Andrew, I've seen carparts in your house! A full set of wheels, spoilers and other things while you where having a Tutu with your car. I've got a Supertourer piston and one from the Budweiser Rail (600ci Donovan). -
I got 172kW and the made a typo for Milan's 730. He got 131kW according to his run, they published 171kW. Gus, I've got a copy if you want to have a look at NZPC. It was the last dyno run they are publishing too, so we were lucky. I wouldn't try to compare your results to Gus's. His is doing better than your average E30 325i.

172kW at about 6300 rpm. Just imagine what I might get if I could get the extra 2000 rpm out of it!
-
In 94 the E36 Touring car was 216kW (288hp) at around 8300 rpm, from the 1998cc S42 motor. Not really progress, is it. Still impressive though.

Are you Wise? What part of completely changing your suspension sounds cheap to you. Go to Steve at 0800 racebrakes, get some decent pads, good fluid, upgrade the rotors (if you want) and buy some braided brake lines. Andrew, David and a few others from the BMW club will be able to advise pricing on that last option. If you have 500+ horsepower and need to stop, get 5 series front end and an E36 super-touring rear end. That stops a car in the club. Shouldn't cost more than $15k to get that fitted properly.

Unless it's a GTR, I wouldn't bother. The suggestion of the Porsche is quite sensible. Wrong one (924). Buy the 944 and have a great time with it.

Red Bull confirm Minardi takeover Red Bull will have two teams on the 2006 grid after purchasing Minardi in a deal announced at Spa on Saturday. The Austrian energy drink company, who bought the Jaguar team last year, will take over all Minardi company shares at the beginning of November. Red Bull say they will position their newly-acquired second squad as a ‘rookie team’. It will operate independently of Red Bull Racing and the two will compete against one another on the track. In a statement, Red Bull detailed three main reasons for the takeover: 1. "Red Bull has more talented drivers than it has available cockpits. This meant there were only two ways of helping up-coming drivers: either place them in other teams or to increase the number of cockpits available to us. After much careful thought, Red Bull decided to go with the second of these options." 2. "Looking at the current state of Formula One we feel that the second team will be able to maintain its current assets while also being able to generate its own income in the future, in order to become almost self-financing." 3. "This acquisition also means that Red Bull now has a second vote in any matters raised regarding the future of Formula One." At the moment, Red Bull say no decisions have been taken as regards the name of the team, management or drivers. However, there is already widespread speculation in the paddock that American GP2 star Scott Speed, recently signed as a Red Bull test driver, and either Christian Klien or Vitantonio Liuzzi could form their 2006 driver pairing. The buyout also poses some interesting questions regarding engine and tyre suppliers. Minardi currently run Bridgestone rubber, while Red Bull Racing have just announced they will be staying on Michelins for 2006. Both teams this season are powered by Cosworth engines, but Red Bull Racing will use Ferrari V8s next season. The Minardi takeover marks another chapter in the team's colourful Formula One history. They made their Grand Prix debut in Brazil in 1985. Current boss Paul Stoddart purchased the team in 2001. Minardi will retain their current driver, personnel and sponsorship arrangements for the remainder of this season. The team are also expected to keep their Italian base in Faenza as part of the Red Bull deal.

Why not do the test in 3rd gear? 4.5 secs for me.

The brake numbers are meant to sum 50% of your cars weight. They guess the weight of your car (as they don't know it) and pick a pass or fail on that basis. However, I don't know what the rules are for balance side to side.

I had to vote once a month, because that's about as often as I drive it. So it gets a red line once it's warm most times I drive it.

Horses for course isn't it. It is no fun to drive an MX5 or a Lotus Elise in the outback of Australia. In the hills above Monaco or the Alps, now that is a different story. I like torque, so generally a bigger motor (or one that's supercharged). But I love the Colin Chapman school of design, because it is the best. Remember, if it has a motor or tits. It will cause you grief. Our little Civic is fun to drive and like most (90%) of Hondas is cheap, fast and handles pretty well for what it is.

You snooze, you lose. That covers it.

No problems for me. You just need to be off the clutch completely before you nail it. Looking forward to seeing it Andy :bounce: Whats with the giant sig?? Plz Resize or disable for future posts.

Read paragraph 2 in the centre column.

Ask David what he has done to his car. Stainless lines, new fluid and Mintex pads. All from Race brakes. Get decent rubber is the next step. (not for David as he has R compound already).
-
Did you sell it? I might be interested now. Any touring really.

I've probably been far more deviant, but I'm a lot older too. Still, at no age have I been impaired enough to try something that old! When you can line me up for something feel free to. Do the crime, do the time! Gus was just doing his Civic duty and looking after someone in need. I'll buy him a beer as I don't have a medal for him. Oh, and I'm a Westy, so my standards weren't high to start with back then.

Dogleg implies a racing gear box. So your last gear change is straight back toward you. As 1st is generally only used for getting off the line. Carl is right, 1st is out on it's own and the top numbers are 2 & 4 (in a 5 speed).
-
It doesn't say "OLDBAG". I don't understand...
-
Bugger all. It's not a dog-leg and it doesn't illuminate, so less than $120 from BMW is my guess.

First Thursday of every month at the Gables (unless it's summer, and then it could be a BBQ at Okahu bay)
