318i manuals are easier to find in the market too, if that matters.

it is a very different market now, and i was lucky to get what i did for it back then (top end of the market really) but its a real world example. $3500 is about right, maybe even too much, for a rough 323i. I wouldnt own another *23i (owned 3, E36, E46 and E39), just too under powered.

i think i sold mine for about 5K a year ago. 180,000km auto 323i sedan, silver non-sport, cloth. Import, no history (other than the service i did, and diagnostic passing), but was very tidy inside and out, everything worked and it had motorsport wheels.

What brand are the shocks? Could you try and find a slightly upsized bush and get it pressed in?

Sorry kid, real world experience trumps your bandwagon hearsay. Try driving a real Type R as it should be driven (hammer down, quickly, around corners) and then your opinion might mean something. Any non Type R is irrelevant and cannot be compared to a Type R, they are in no way the same. I thought my first car was the bees knees too, so dont worry, you arent the only one but you do eventually get over that when you start to drive real cars.

Dont bother with the rubbish this kid is crapping on about. Just write in a nice, level headed, cool, calm and collected letter. If they let you off, cool, if they dont, chalk it up to experience.

i concur, write in, advise of bad weather conditions. Maybe it was a combination of some standing water, old narrow tires and possibly some slippery road grime? Sounds like a pretty raw deal if you backed off and straightened up as soon as it happened.

ALso with this, whats the deal with "JM Lippert"? I cant find much info on what the deal with these cars was. Are they a tuning house like Alpina, or was this a one off?

Owned 5th gen Prelude Type-S, An Integra Type R, A Euro R and various other non-R Hondas.... and i currently own an M3 in that price range. Apples and sausages, cant even compare them. Honda is FAR easier than an old BMW to live with daily and a type R will out handle, and likely out drive any BMW you can buy for 16K. You dont like FWD Hondas? Thats your loss, but dont go rubbishing them without knowing what youre talking about. To the OP, good luck with the sale. Its well priced for a tidy facelift, especially in something other than white. Shouldnt take long to shift.

or screw it, buy a manual diesel X5. Bestest, safest car evar.
