im using Valvoline Synpower 5W-40 in my 3L with no ill effects. Makes great power, vanos is working well, no abnormal noises, and no noticeable oil consumption. A lot of others, especially in the UK, run 5W-40 in their 3Ls too. I do warn you though, asking this question is a HUGE can of worms as everyone and their dogs dog has an opinion.

front badge looks terrible imo, looks like a standard one that all the paint has flaked off of. I agree that its about right in terms of price, but the market for a 850i is small, and the market for a LHD 850i almost doesnt exist. You should give it a good clean and take some decent photos.

yeah, i dont know the ratio of my old 323i diff, but when i converted it to manual using 318i stuff it was great around town but on the open road it was a pain pulling over 3000rpm at 100kph. Was always left wanting a 6th gear. In saying that my M3 pulls about 3000rpm (just below i think) at 100kph and its all good. I wouldnt worry too much about which box you use, just make sure the rest of the hardware (drive shaft, shifter etc) are all suitable for both your engine (4 and 6 cylinder use different hardware) and the gearbox you use.

Should be a beast once its all back together. New vanos seal on my old B25 worked wonders.
-
pull plugs and then drain oil, bit easier to drop oil than the drop pan and should be obvious if youre suddenly panning for gold. Either way, stop running the engine until you know what it is.

it'd be fine, the B28 is hardly a powerhouse in the first place. Have some mechanical sympathy and itll keep going.
-
Not changing the diff when converting to manual gives some wicked acceleration, but high revs at 100kph. Still usable though.

Saw a new M3 in what i presume is Marina Blue cruising around Oriental Bay. Pretty stunning cars on the road, do want.

I take my iPad. No ownership change, no key handover. No chance of fines etc coming to me if their side of it is changed, and its never come back to bite me so far.
-
Out of all 40 cars i have sold over the past few years, not a single one ive had to fill out the sellers form and ownership has changed just fine.

haha nah, in the Honda heading the other way

Dont worry, he clearly saves money in other places... like eBirth not being on the companies register. Totes winning at life.

oooh creepy, stalking me

Was probably the same one we had in at work for a service the other day. So nice.

Not as good as a Veyron or i8, but spotted Andy in the vert on SH2 this avo, looks damn good!
-
Looked at it, still sitting in the drive.... checked my pelican order, not shipped yet... and took the Honda for a drive.

HAHAHA, its all come down to crocs. sh*t got real!

I suppose someone has to deal in the shadows and sell dodgy items, not everyone can be legit. Sounds like "marking money" to you is ripping people off and selling dodgy refurbs using cheap Chinese rubbish. eBirth must be doing well (ignoring the silly name), because ive never heard of it and i was in the industry until recently. A like on bookface doesnt mean anything, and the fact you bring this up clearly shows how wrong you are in this thread.

It should be advertised as an M3, because it is, but it REALLY should be disclosed in the auction that the engine has been swapped.
-
This is actually the first thing i thought of too when i heard the video. Quick and easy to check.
-
You couldnt call it a 325i either now could you? Becuase its not. Its an M3 with a crap engine. Its still an M3 though, An engine alone does not make a car.
-
Cutting springs is not just stupid, its also illegal.
-
For a 750il the one on tardme actually appears to be pretty poverty spec in its options. Its definitely not "highly optioned". hell, most of the 740s on tardme are better optioned.
-
Its an M3, plain and simple. As long as the seller discloses the engine swap to the buyer, there is nothing at all wrong (and presuming its certified for the swap too). But by your reasoning, if you took the engine out of this car, what would it be then? Cant just call it nothing....
