Pretty decent update, making serious progress now, a few more hurdles to go and it will be back on the road/track where it deserves to be not broken in the garage. Doing a massive order of maintenance parts on Pelican Parts to revitalize the M20 in the next week or two then I can do a full fluid flush and it will be running sweet as a nut. Interior pretty much done until the race seat and harness appear of course, a few things missing and some wiring to tidy on the rear seat back. Got the MSNZ fire extinguisher back mounted in. Also made a heavily modified underdash panel, way less awkward and doesn't catch on the clutch Plastic Battery Cover thanks to Stephen (skids) for sorting me out with this. The re-appearance of a few things I originally had on the car then took off, including the ultra sweet baby blue rocker cover and the Red Bull ignition coil A few misc. shots to see how the car stands at the moment (Got Rake?) Not long to go now

^ I saw a E30 kit on trade me a few weeks ago. Was a Fujimi IIRC. I to, used to make scale models have a few stored away, would rather play with real cars now though. M3 looks great.

What is the best method to replacing the sump gasket on a E30 M20B25? Can it be done in place or does the engine need lifting off it's mounts/subframe dropped? What is the easiest method? Cheers, Nathan

I think I fixed it. Ashkan, check your earths underneath where the steering wheel + steering column plastic covers screw together on the steering column There should be 3 different ring connectors that are all earths that mount to it with a screw + a nut.

Recently I have taken the dash out of my E30 along with carpet removal etc etc. Now after re-assembly, with the key out of the ignition, the headlight switch off/pushed in all the way, the park lights light up as if they are on constant? power. With the key in the ignition and turned to light up the dash lights, they turn off. I am no electrican, so my description could be worded better. I have the flasher relay disconnected at the moment but I wouldn't think that would be on the same circuit? Have also disconnected the speakers at some point and added some switches to the ignition wire but that is about it and removed excess factory alarm wiring that had been removed years ago along with the ABS computer which isn't needed. Originally I thought it was the brake light switch around the wrong way lighting up the brakes when the pedal is not pressed, until I noticed the park lights on at the same time. Lucky I have a external kill switch for the battery or I would have several flat battery's by now. Any help is appreciated, thankyou in advance. - Nathan

Doesn't antony have some 16' 3 piece hartge's on his E30 that he was thinking of selling the whole car a while back? maybe pm him you would have to stay 4 stud for that though.

^ Totally agree, def the best color. Mint car!

Awesome project mate, nice to see someone going totally different. Keep up the good work

Find a real set of these if your going 5 stud. Seen them on a few E30's overseas. Would be the wheels I would use if I could afford to go 5 stud. Not really keeping with the period theme but I think they look tough. Good luck

Bump. Someone has got to have one spare lying around, or alternatively I remember reading about someone cutting out the hub of a factory wheel and tapping threads into it to mount a aftermaket wheel, anyone remember who that was? Any help is appreciated. Cheers, Nathan

^ You do something in the garage on it and it works first time, and you think f**k me this car doesn't really want me to give up after all haha. About that indecision lol....your not the first person to complain haha. At least I am passionate. Plan on fixing it and driving it this time, heard it here first. No more fixing till the motor breaks .... maybe

Saw Oli (sydwayz e30) twice rolling around Welly today in DRTE30...looking nasty. Rear suspension is pretty slammed lol. I love it.

Cheers man, um VHT Vinyl/Carpet Dye in Satin Black. Needed 3 cans...... What can I say, I am a genius Was a bulk buy lol. They work though
-
Dyed carpet and boot liner in, need to to touch up a few spots but it looks pretty decent. Can start plugging and screwing things back in Also made a custom mount for the AFM off the relay mount on the LHS off the engine bay, to which a air box is being made this weekend out of aluminium once I have got a hose extension for the air filter.
