Bump, need a E30 boss kit, kicking myself for selling the one I had a few months ago.
-
Just call me Ken now LOL. In other news, carpet is dyed satin black will be going in tomorrow along with 95% of the rest of the interior. Woot.

Mwhahahahahahahahahaha Now powered by M20 Monster Thought it was time to upgrade from the Red Bull Can to something more sinister.. Love waiting for paint to dry and get occasional gems of inspiration falling from the sky.

^^ I will double check and thread lock. Thanks Glenn

Could be a stupid question but what can I do to stop my factory oil cooler connections from coming undone all the time. I have nipped them up tight and they still work themselves loose after a while. Can I use thread tape or thread lock for extra security or is there another option. Cheers, Nathan

I heard Fast and The Furious 5 wants their car back? All E46 M3's should be Laguna Seca Blue IMO.
-
IMO don't rust anything on your car Brook. Tidy E30's are very hard to come by these days, yours looks pretty sweet from what I have seen body/trim wise, save the money and time and just get some RS's/equivalent, you will be happier in the long run.

Um I want it essentially road legal/done bar harness and seat by the end of Feb. I originally two holes cut with a holesaw for the two bolts, found that a bit of a pita to get it all square so I cut a rectangle about the same shape as the top piece of the subframe (surely that could be said a easier way) Cheers, I am going to keep trucking and as long as it doesn't stop me running heaps, studying heaps and spending all my money then I will keep working on it till atleast Uni goes back in a month and I will see where I am at. Too be honest, it isn't the same since I overheated it at the track day, a lot noisyer on idle and seems to be a bit down on power. After helping Anthony on his M50 it is a lot more fiddling than I anticipated, if a low k's Motronic 1.3 motor comes up I might replace it with that instead with some wayney headers and a chip, but for now it goes and sounds good just going to do some maintence on it and hopefully extend its life a few more k's, it has done 310,000 after all, just run in lol. That's the plan Um it was a 500ml can for all that and I've basically used it all, and it was free from Dad, I think it is about $30 - $40 per can. Cheers everyone for the comments, really just want to drive it now.

I have a 23mm Whiteline on the front of mine, paid for itself in handling improvements. Managed to find a cheapie on trade me off a guy clearing old stock from a business.

I brushed it on. I used Wattyl Kill Rust Epoxy Enamel Top Coat. Made it far easier and efficent not having to mask wiring etc just brush around it and mask any straight edges. It is quite poisonous though, made myself feel quite sick painting inside the car

Bit of a nothing update. Got all the floor + boot floor all painted with anti rust enamel epoxy paint along with body deadening anything under the car that even looked like it thought about cracking and peeling. Try and rust now you f**ker (Before anyone asks, the alloy plate duct taped to the floor of my boot covers holes in the boot floor for access to the top diff bolts, a massive time saver and I recommend them to anyone who has an E30 and likes to DIY, apart from Race Series guys who are not allowed to cut holes IIRC) After a few goes at selling my Type A's I decided I will just run them as road wheels since they are essentially brand new and look even better every time I put them back on the car. Thinking they look far better without center caps after seeing a couple online so that's how they will stay, painted the hub rings silver so they are stealth and looks better. Thought about making some flat center caps but this way I save money Still not convinced though, anyone got any thoughts? Flat, None or Std Caps???? Here is a better pic of the foglights installed in the Alpina front, they will stay in contradiction to my previous posts (because they look rad). Have decided to run with a carpeted interior, after having a black painted interior (sweating like a mother while doing it) and reading Ashkan having the same problem in his car has made me rethink that decision and I will put my carpet back in and dye it black, along with the headliner. The rear seat will stay bare as once I have everything else done a race seat is getting planted in the drivers seat and a 5pt harness. Next job is to dye the carpet, install the interior, pick up a bootlid tonight + pay for a Mtech2 wing, get those painted, paint some other stuff, install + we have a completed wofable car ready for a race seat + belts and ready to do the intermarques ...... sort of. Take everything you read here with a grain of salt my mind will change tomorrow trying to get as much of the car done as I can before I go back to uni in a month, to all the people that give me a hard time for changing my mind, you don't have to read this thread/or post I just want a place to document what I have done. Till next time, Nathan

Congrats guys, wouldn't want anyone else

I have had stuff painted at Soverign Panel and Paint here in Tawa and they do a great job, always have truckloads of cars outside getting sorted. They are an approved AMI/State repairer I think. Bad luck about the car Rio, blessing in discuise

front right headlight, white valance (for an e30)
Forrest replied to raspygold's topic in Want to buy
Hey man, there is a white E30 front valance at pick a part in Lower Hutt on a facelift car the same as yours. Looked in reasonable shape, I saw it there yesterday, a while ago I brought one to cut up to fit a fibreglass bumper and it cost me like $15 max. Not too sure if there are headlights up there still, they are usually the first to go. Cheers, Nathan -
This makes the imminent death of the v8 supercars look more and more likely now.

I mean't more in the fact of being able to drive to the track of your choice as opposed to trailer + tow car.

#12 is hella winner as son! really don't have much to go. Interior looks so badass business like especially with the ginormous shifter, or is that what she said Good stuff man this is gonna be mint. My favourite project on here atm. Dunno if it is a stupid question or not but are you going to leave it road legal?
-
If you have to sell it....atleast try this first
-
Honestly, just go drive it/and or work on it. If you still hate/having doubts it after that, sell it. and by drive I don't mean to work, I mean tear up a suitable mountain side of your choice, then choose lol

Nothing wrong with changing your mind like the wind Luke, only the best do it

Could always buy 325 plates, tags + weld the chassis number in off someone has been done, abit condtradicts the legality issue you wish to persue Andrew lol.

^ You know I feel like you do right now haha. Rego'd shell would be easier and cheaper eventually, but finding a rust free shell is getting a lot harder. I thought I had found one . Hindsight is a funny thing lol Atleast you can find a coupe shell
