Oh I see, learn something everyday. Are you still planning on selling it before you come back to Welly?

^ My mate used Diesel on his m50 and gearbox, could nearly eat your dinner off it.

For the last six months or so I have been struggling financially and two'ing and fro'ing wether to sell/store or keep working on the E30. Decided I want to store it for the next year and a half until I have graduated from Uni and can afford to get the car up to my desired standard with a full time job. Up to this point, aside from the motor (which is toast) the car is essentially all brand new/upgraded underneath, which makes far to unrealistic to sell off and make a massive loss. Basic plan is to store it away till I can afford to M52, Roll Cage and totally strip it out whilst keeping it road legal which is what I wanted to do all along ever since writing my old E30 Race Car off. I figure this kind of car is far to hard to build for a full time student earning $150 p/w and for one that has aspirations to run at the 2016 Olympics to be able to divide adequate time for. So I thank everyone for all the help on all of the various threads I have posted, I will be back soon enough, to be able to put enough time, money and effort into creating a E30 that I have always wanted. Cheers, Nathan

I was just making a general statement not refering to anything like that, encourage her to drive a manual = win

Girls are way hotter if A. they can drive and B. the multiplier effect if they can drive a manual.

Ironic how everyone jizzed over these when I first got them, now nobody wants to touch em with a ten ft pole. Buy me http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=27117

Bump, may be sold with tyres included if anyone is keen. $500 w/o tyres, $950 including Can deliver on Monday anywhere across North Island otherwise Shipping can be arranged.

HB Ian, have a good one.
-
Mine just has the ABS computer, ABS Reservoir and bulb in the dash removed. I wouldn't worry about swapping struts etc, mine has passed a couple warrants with the sensors etc still connected.

If your car is idling really low i.e under 600rpm and adjusted to idle higher, will that decrease the rattle from the gearbox?
-
Best E36 Color and Wheels, love it. 6k is a pretty reasonable price.
-
I have just fitted urethane engine mounts in my car and it is alot rattlier at idle I will admit.
-
I used 15/40w on a 165km M40, for my 310km M20 I will probably use 20/25w
-
The knocking/tappets/everything under the sun banging underneath can be reduced with thicker oil also.
-
As with most things on E30's...trial and error
-
Mine does this too, but it is a 310,000km motor. At the end of the day it is a 20/25 year old motor, unless it is very unlikely but it has been rebuilt. Most m20s by now have worn cams, rockers etc etc, I've got to the point where I just ignore it now, save the money trying to fix it and m5x. The money you will spend on a m20 rebuild probably 2k ish, is your m50 conversion done and dusted. Just my 2c

Need as soon as possible. Anywhere between Wellington and Auckland is fine. As mint condition as possible and in Grey Colour. Cheers, Nathan 0277405464

I wish John, this block was a freebie from Anthony (flake), sadly no M5x for me yet.
